Hi All,
I'm just testing the water here and really seeking some feedback to decide if this is worth the effort.
After seeing several users post comments in regard to "missing platform images" I was wondering if people were interested in me providing continued support for what I call the ANW image library? I have since completing the initial image conversion been adding to the collection available for use with the HUD3 although these additional images have yet to be made available to the community.
An example of the additional images I am prepared to make available is the case of Submarine platforms. I believe there are only 6 submarines that feature an available image with the default installation for display using the Harpoon Media Viewer, whilst I have an additional 24 image sets prepared, making a total of 30.
I am happy to commence a new thread where I will post the unreleased/additional image sets, as Matrix Games have been generous enough to allow for a 5MB maximum file upload per post, I would be using this forum for the distribution of the required files specifically the Mods, Databases and Scenarios forum hosting the files as I post them.
So all I really need is an expression of interest from even a handful of people and I'll get to work on providing instructions and the required files as soon as I receive some notification of interest in this offer.

I would like it, from what I have seen so far, it makes for a better game. I like the DB and Pic stuff.
I suppose receiving at least one response will make it worth the effort, stay tuned and I'll start to organise things so even the silent majoriy can grab them.

Thanks Ralf,
Happy New Year to you and your family. In fact a happy and prosperous new year to the whole forum, lets make 2011 a year to remember for Harpoon in general.

Thanks Guys,
I've started uploading individual image zip files for each Submarine Platform. I'll be adding the additional Aircraft and Ship image zips shortly. If people would also like to see a few examples of the files I'm including in the Zip packs, I'd be happy to upload a few image files here for viewing.

What about an "expansion" Pack, I mean that literally in regard to the size of the images. Originally AGSI needed to limit the size of the files as I found more and more. I wondered if a 800x600 pixel standard was of interest?
Oh the Chinook is sweet! Like I said the DB is one of the Best Harpoon features. I was playing some of the old HC games form the HUE and was in heaven...even the older stuff was good (HC ver1.0). :)
Each platform has its own entry, and I'll add a listing of the images (the index) as soon as possible. I'll also be expanding the thread to cover Aircraft and Ships.
This "entire set of images" came from where? Seems to me it looks like you've taken my original work and simply reposted the images? Seriously when will you guys give up on constantly passing other people's hard work off as if it's your own???
Another point is unless you have access to my hard drive, how will your, "entire set of images" include any of the new photos I'm preparing? This really has to stop, NOW.
The images I prepared were for the exclusive use of AGSI. I have an agreement with Don/AGSI about this work and since I created it, I have an Intellectual Property interest in this work along with AGSI. It was always a joint deal between AGSI and myself and even if AGSI has granted permission I have NOT. As such I would appreciate you removing that file and point out you hadn't consulted all of the owners of the collection.
Why on earth does everyone want to take credit for doing nothing?
I'm going to thank you in advance, although I doubt you'll do anything to rectify this situation...

+1 Intellectual Property and Copyright Issues are sacrosanct. Check any mod forum on Matrix and everyone is careful not to use images without permission.

I know. This is why we asked permission to Don Gilman first. He personally authorized the PlayersDB to use and distribute HarpoonII/III images since August 31, 2005. AGSI even posted a public copy of the authorization to their Wiki http://tinyurl.com/62dbrlw
The accompanying files which contain text descriptions for and/or pictures of items in the Harpoon II/III database were modified with the consent of AGSI under the condition that they not be sold or otherwise be used to generate revenue. These files may otherwise be freely distributed in their current form. Requests to modify text description and picture files should be addressed to AGSI at mailto:sales@advancedgaming.biz.
I agree. Knee-jerk reactions aren't helpful to the community. Not, I fear, this will make them stop
My permission is for AGSI work and prior versions. That was intended to include HUD2 (my assumption based on prior discussions w Darren).
HUD3 is also DARREN's Work and we will abide by his distribution wishes If I have posted anything to the contrary, then I hereby apologize and RETRACT any permission that was not mine to give.

I don't know how many of you know, but Darren passed away recently. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He was one of the most genuinely gracious people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing - if only via the Internet.
