In other news, Jack Kevorkian died...

Gosh; wonder if someone was there to look into his eyes while he turned the tap off. Good for Jack. Probably the best thing he could have done. RiH (roast in hell) Jack.

Have a dog report. Am having an epiphany about how dog brains work and just how they feel about going to new homes. It's a joy to the humans, but pretty darn stressful for the dog; its lost the sights and smells of its last home, and no matter how much love is in the new one, one must realize a new pup is lost. They want and need to do right for their person, but on day - one, it's more like "what the shoot do I do now, batman??"

Have a really good dog. He has Abby's eyes. Is settling in nicely. Totally botched his haircut, but gave him a bath, anyway. Hard to say whether he's annoyed about the bath, or embarrassed about the haircut.

I doubt if he's annoyed about the bath.

Heh... I remember walking past the dog hairdresser (furdresser?) when somebody came out of with their newly-shorn pooch. Said pooch immediately relieved itself on the front step of the shop, as if to say, "here's what I think of you skills, bub!"...

My new 58" TV just arrived. Now I need a Blu Ray player and new HDMI cables, then I need to set up the internet connection. Yes, my TV connects to the internet.

TV set up, Blu Ray player (that's also a multi-region DVD player) connected and working, internet connection set up and working. Bloody hell it looks good.

Lindisfarne Castle, built by Henry VIII with stones from the local priory. It was garrisoned until 1893, although I have no idea why.

The small one (27") we bought for our son for Chrimbo has wifi built in. Very handy if you try to stream movies from Netflix or such. Not long before this is the standard for TV's methinks.

Now, I'm off to the rinks for more tryouts today.  My son has been playing well and looked very good so far.  Of course, you never know what the evaluators are thinking, so we just don't worry about that part.  He's working hard and having fun, so it's already been a successful tryout season.

We've been using an inexpensive Roku unit for this. Works well for streaming Netflix, Amazon on Demand, MLB channel or half a dozen other channels.

Yes, I really think he is. Had an epiphany about foster and adopted dogs. Poor things are pulled from pillar to post, and end up gosh knows where. All their familiar sights and smells are gone, they really are quite lost, and totally stressed (in a doggie kind of way). Beaudy the Deaugy was adopted and returned several times already. His little world is probably so topsy-turvy, I'm frankly impressed at how balanced he is. But, he's moved right in. I'm pretty sure he's a happy pup, now. Do all I can to make him so.

100 degrees and 92% humidity in Mobile Bay, today. Never in my life heard about people dropping out of a boat race because it was too hot ! Could use A warm rain today.

Hi all,

After 10+ years of faithful service my 1600x1200 19" Mitsubishi Trinitron CRT (30 kg = 65 lb) on my home PC died on me last night...

Today I managed to install my new laptop with all necessary programs (CRT on my home PC "choose" to break down just before I managed to finish that and have immediately available laptop to continue work without interruption )...
