So, I love Matrix, I love the games, and while I've never had a problem myself, I love that members here that have all rave about the excellent service.

I dislike the lack of demos because it makes purchasing decisions much harder (for me, at least). Case in point: I've looked at the JTCS game on and off for most of a year, trying to determine if it was a good fit for what I was looking for.

With some many other games (both more and less expensive) that I was sure I wanted to play, I couldn't take the plunge. Eventually, I searched and searched for videos that might relate the game's essence, and found the tutorials on youtube. But, as might be expected in a tutorial, they didn't do the job.

Finally I broke down and sourced the game with less-than-legitimate means, installed, and spun up a random scenario. Inside of 15 minutes, I was hooked, and have just this past minute finished my legitimate purchase of the full physical version. Had there been a demo, or even just more videos of game play, or video-enhanced AAR, Matrix would have had my money much sooner.

I know, my experience is one piece of anecdotal data, so I don't expect Matrix to make any major changes on its basis, or be able to convince developers they work with on its basis, but I wanted to convey my experience to lend them some insight into at least one customer's mindset, and make a request that may be more viable in the short term: If a demo isn't released, a half-dozen or so videos covering gameplay mechanics would be almost as useful for most of your games. Had I seen a 5 minute video of just a short couple of movement & battle phases, I likely would have purchased much sooner.

Also, I am sorry for sourcing the illegitimate copy, though I hope you understand that I have no intent to ever actually pirate you games (or any others, for that matter).
