If I wasn’t so busy playing Field of Glory and WitP:AE I’d probably give the PoN demo a try.

Status: offline 		Gave this a go the map lags terribly. There's a couple of bugs with random ethnic groups being in places they shouldn't but apparently this is fixed in the upcoming full game release. It needs some optimization.

Status: offline 		The interface is too "busy" for my taste.....but that might change, after all I really despised the X-com demo the 1st time I played it and it became one of my favorite games.

Status: offline 		Initial impressions report that, unlike Victoria, you have to do things youself.
Don't know if this is good or bad for players.  For me, I guess I just need to try it out.

I was playing around with the settings and figured this out It really does speed up the game I meant to post that here but got sidetracked.

Status: offline 		I have no problem with the map, but I REALLY wish Paradox France (no such thing as AGEOD now) would hire somebody with a better command of written English to proofread game and manual. It takes away from my immersion, and it's so easy to solve.

This nonwithstanding I consider Pride of Nation to be one of the very few sophisticated historical strategy games on a GLOBAL scale. So far I put some hours in - and barely scratched the surface.

I'd wish Matrix also could sell it just to make PON more popular.

Status: offline 		I like the combat system. It's AGEOD's tried-and-tested model. The colonial system is also very interesting: you get tons and tons of options for exploring the blanks on the maps (interior of Africa, to pick an obvious example) and taking over areas for colonization.

I like it better than Victoria so far.
