Well, happy birthday then! You're what, 30 something?

Ah, so kind of you to say so. Let's just say that I'm one year older than one of our PBEM partners. NOT Steve.

Hah! You're older than me. By less than a month but still, that makes you second geezer of the 2x2. Nyah nyah.

Hey Mynok, I took a look and listen to the videos you put up.

Very fine; how many of you are there in the group? 10?

12 right now. We are shooting for sixteen so we have backups for gigs. Not everyone can make every event.

We have a great bass section. That's really critical for acapella. FYI, I'm the tall one next to the kid.

"Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" can't really be sung without a good bass section...

No, it can't.

BTW, don't confuse me with a bass. I'm at the other end of the singing scale.

It's not called "Swing High, Sweet Chariot", after all... I was not familiar with the third song you posted, aside from "The Star-Spangled Banner"...

I'm at the high end of the bass band. Or I used to be; haven't sung in front of an audience for the better part of two decades.

I think two decades ago, we were all at a higher point on the scale than we are now.

Yup. I was 4'11.5" and singing alto in the 8th grade choir at school. Good voice. Something happened over the next year though-I grew the better part of a foot and not-so-much singing alto either.

I sang alto as a boy and never really switched. Still sing the part during hymns. Don't get to sing it in choir as we have plenty of women-kind for that part. I've done soprano with men's acapella but choir soprano is a bit different. Be very hard to match a female sound up there.

Oh yeah, if others want to hear us, try the links below. The sound's not the best but it's good enough.

I finally made it home. Highlights include a detour because some truck driver rolled his semi on I-70 and closed the interstate near Parachute Colorado. The Colorado River took out part of I-70 because of the snow melt. It looks to be over 5 feet. And snow is still on the ground at Vail Pass. Elevation over 10,00 feet.

Hi all,

There is one interesting series on History Channel... "The Last Voices of WWI"... wholeheartedly recommended... it reminds me of the stories my grandfather told me when I was little about his wounds and his WWI ordeal in the Eastern Front...

Thus - not all shows on History Channel are bad!

The new "Japan" identity is out. He calls himself "pleasebegentle" and is trying to build up credibility by undermining his previous identity. Sneaky (or so he thinks)...

Anyhoo, I think I'll go back to Pride of Nations for the afternoon. Damn Piedmontese won't leave me alone, keep trying to provoke a war over Tunisia (I'm playing France).

Thanks dude. Very low key day. Except for the daughter unit that elected for a bout of vomitting at dinnertime. That...how shall we say...changed our family dinner plans.
