Hi Leo! Did you take that photo? It's a beauty.

Nope... Internet domain... AFAIK author is unknown...

BTW, nice move by the male bird...

Hi all,

quote:

ORIGINAL: Nikademus

well the reviews for Duke Nukem Forever are certainly not kind. Someday i'll have to try it when i have a modern system again.

Guess one can't be too suprised given the 15 year development cycle.....its the Cyber equivilent to Axl Rose's "Chinese Democracy" album for "Guns n Roses"

Yep... <SIGH>

BTW, a good friend of mine got it (he loved the original version)... he told me that the start was promising but that it turned into yet another FPS after that...

Hi all,

Best wishes Martin - fingers crossed!

BTW, is there a job for you with civilian airlines for example?

Would that be OK?

Leo "Apollo11"

I'm not sure on the situation there, to do the job I do now requires various licenses which cost a fair bit of money. There's no guarantee that there's a job at the end of it so I'm reluctant to spend large amounts of money that is possibly going straight down the drain.

The next step is to get into contact with companies and find out how my current skills etc would transfer across to their work and what courses etc I can do that will help my chances. Will I get a job, well they are out there. Just not sure exactly what sector it's going to be in.

Well, according to one television show I recall from your country the job for which you could have the highest aspirations would be a Bicycle Repairman!

You'll still get to turn a spanner...

You only need to tip them 46 degrees. Gravity will do the rest.

Spent the morning at the car dealer, getting scheduled maintenance done.  Their internet access blocked the forums due to "games" in the URL.

I was therefore forced to get in some quality work on my 2x2 AE game.

Take your time, USS Mike. I'm way behind on my other PBEM responsibilities.

On another note...about our geek factor discussions yesterday...At least I convinced my wife to marry me, geeky side and all. Asking for her hand was a good decision. Of course, I applied my usual method for important decisions...

Only limited to "games"

I guess they don't want all us gamers hogging up the bandwith from customers needing it for business use.

I didn't mind.  I played AE, drank 3 cups of free coffee, ate one free pastry, and didn't have to pay a penny for all the service they did.

Good morning.  My little boy turned 1 year old yesterday.  Mom and Dad had a wonderful day at the zoo with him!!
Warspite1

Quality age - but then aren't they all - every year brings new things, walking, talking, their own little personality's developing, supporting Tottenham Hotspur, playing wargames with daddy? - fantastic!! Hope your boy enjoyed the day!
Warspite1

....and speaking of which, we've just come back from Secondary School Open Day Tithe. It seems like only yesterday my eldest was getting ready for her first day at nursery - and now she's going to big school in September - just where does the time go?

Damn, Steel Wolves is labour-intensive, even on Vassal. I shudder to think how long it would take if I had to lay out the map and punch all the counters first...

I do remember but I thought that Vassal was just a helper and that you need to have all stuff (maps and counters) just as originally intended / designed...

Typically, VASSAL and other online tools keep track of the map and all the counters.  You still need to have any documentation like rules, scenario info, etc.

Good thing Steel Wolves is a solitaire game. I just finished the first week, sinking 66,000 tons of shipping.

You have to have the game, yes, but the map and all the counters and markers are represented on screen, and you move them around there. Same with dice rolling.
