I am playing the 1944 scenario as the Soviets against the AI on Impossible. I have encounted 2 issues in this game I think is a bug.

1. I am finding that the AI is filling any gaps in the line I manage to punch through with units that are 0-0 value. These units have to same characteristics as normal units, and require me to attack them, but when combat occurrs they have zero manpower and zero equipment.

2. It is December 1944 and despite me killing masses of panzers since June 44 (3,500 AFV's), the German panzer strenght is currently at 6500 AFV's. I think there has to be something done with the allocation/production of AFV's for this late in the war.

AFV numbers may not be so crazy. IIRC Germany produced something like 18-19,000 tank chassis derived AFVs in 1944. Production that year alone accounted for ~40% of all German AFVs produced in the entire war.

Someone here will know the numbers, but believe historical German AFV losses in the East for 1944 were ~7-8k, just for reference.

Also if I'm not mistaken, the game "AFV" count includes armed halftracks, armored cars, etc.

This is known issue. In fact you don't need to attack those depleted units. Just move another combat unit close to it and it should trigger a displace. Otherwise Depleted unit can't participate in combat, therefore you see empty combat pane.

If you have a save at the end of your turn or start of an AI turn where you are seeing CV=0 units move adjacent to your units during the next AI move phase, please post it or send to 2by3@2by3games.com. The AI shouldn't be moving units into these locations. If there's some other way you're seeing these units appear next to yours, let me know. I know this has been reported before but I can't remember the specifics and we'll need those to see if we can alter the AI code.

This is not an AI issue as such. It also can happen in H2H games when front line units get attrition and become depleted, but not displaced.
