After beating the ai a couple of times I would like to try this game against a human opponent (and probably get beaten).
If anyone is ineterested, let me know.

Perhaps we could try a multiplayer game. Is there anyone that is familiar with this and be prepared to set one up?

Mike

So, we are (by order) :

- Jagular
- Nego
- Iron Knight
- Waichou
- Keunert
- Weibizen

I think we are too many for one game, 4 player should be better, so we can split in two games of four players (or two games of 3 players). I propose a 2vs2 game.
Let me know what do you think about that.

more than four players makes playing very slow.
i suppose we split it into two games.

Greetings!

Hey, I just logged on today for the first time.  I may be late to the dance, and my addition would make an odd number, but I'm looking for a game as well.  Let me know if you can use me.  I've been playing with a friend of mine for about a year and we are getting tired of beating up on one another.  If it would make it an even number again, I'm sure he would be interested as well.

That's fine. Its good to see so many people repying to my request.
I already have a couple of one-on-ones starting now, but a 2-2 would be good as well.

As with 2-2 games it usually takes 1-2 days between turns for players. Maybe it would be nice to start 4 games and mix the players so we all are participating in 2 games.

Looks like we have 7 players, but I'm sure we can get to 8

It would look somthing like:
Game 1
- Jagular
- Nego
- Iron Knight
- Waichou

Game 2
- Keunert
- Weibizen
- Madlock
- ???

Game 3
- Jagular
- Iron Knight
- Keunert
- Madlock

Game 4
- Nego
- Waichou
- Weibizen
- ???

And if were not tired of it by then we can have thw winning teams compete against eachother.

I've got other games in progress so I'm not interested in starting more than one game (1v1 or 2v2). Perhaps we could even use the new RESOURCE mod if everyone agreed.

Ok for ressources mod, but i am not very comfortable with, so can we select only option : connected ressources and eventually beans and bullets (the last one seems too complicated for me...). So, i am ready to start a game, who launch the game (and which options) ?

I don't oppose this mod, but 2 games instead of 1 can be problematic.

So we can start 2 games with different players, as we are now 8. What about :

Game 1
- Jagular
- Nego
- Iron Knight
- Waichou

Game 2
- Keunert
- Weibizen
- Madlock
- Hadley

If everybody is ok and think he can really play at least one turn by day, let's make teams (I think we should do it by skill level : beginner, intermediate, expert). For me, I think i am intermediate (2 multi games before).

(sorry for my english, i don't speak very well...)

I'm ok. 1 turn per day is no issue and I would rate myself a beginner (at least at the start of the game :-)

I'd rate myself an experienced intermediate.

Game 2
- Keunert
- Webizen
- Madlock
- Hadley

If everyone will PM me their email address we will get this game started. We'll have a short discussion about whether to use a mod and game parameters first.

I don't know for the game 2, but no news for the game 1... If it's the same for you, maybe we could merge and play with the four players who are motivated. I am still ready if there is someone !

I now have everyone's email address so will get this game started soon. Three of us have indicated an acceptance of using the Resource Mod. Three of you have indicated you are basically beginners, at least to multi-player games. Two are in Europe and two in America.

I'm inclined not use the resource mod, since other than myself, everyone is playing their first multi-player game [may reconsider this option].

House Rules
1) No declaration of war allowed until turn 3
2) No backstabbing your ally. Victory will be a team victory.

Game Setup Parameters
Stone Age
I'll set the rest of the parameters later.

Teams
For this game we will use pre-set teams:
Webizen (intermediate) and Madlok (beginner)
Hadley (beginner++) and Keunert (intermediate)

I'll setup a Dropbox folder for save game files. Its use is optional but it a good method and doesn't require emailing the file.

i played quite a bit of advanced tactics pbem and recently a lot of DC Warsaw to Paris.
but i played almost no games against the ai.

this will be my fifth advanced tactics gold pbem.
i've got dropbox too, would be great to use it.

so this will be a team game? an evensteven sort of game without exploring and equal ressources?

thanks for setting this up.

I know that the other players in this thread (Iron Knight, Nego, and waichou) want to play. One of you needs to take the initiative and get it setup and running.

OK:
Iron Knight, Nego and Waichou. Let's get this started.
I would love to take the initiative I'm too new to this game to set up a 4-player well balanced game.
Any of you could do this?
