Don't push too hard for it.

I think it will be ready when it is ready.
We waited years for the conversion of the game, now let us be patient. It is only 2years since the last patch.

I am sure we will see a final future patch, however it still might take a couple of months.

What push I asked a simple straightforward question any customer is entitled to ask. Are you on crack or just the company mouth piece?

On Crack (I guess as I am currently in the Netherlands)

Seriously, I think we are all waiting for it, but it is a very small team effort.
I am a customer as you are, but I seem to have more patience.

Name me any other product, that defective would be allowed to continue in that state for two years, with out refund or return of said product.

I do not rate this product defective.

The patch will certainly add additional functionality & usability to a very good game concept.

Go and read the posts in the forum about how it will look like.
I really think the team is working hard on improving a very old game design.

For me this is what counts.
Somebody took the passion and effort to bring back one of my old time favorites that covers an important aspect f the war. There simpy is no other game in the market that does with that realism and dedication.

I give the development team any time they need as long as they keep on improving this fantastic game.
The current patch seems to be a MAJOR design effort as it will change a lot of screens and reports.

Can't play the GC in BTR thats defective. Pointless really with the issues. Bottom line it is incumbent on an vendor to keep people up to date on fixes to a product that has issues that prevent it from being enjoyed as intended.

Hi ool,

What issues are you having? I'm also looking forward to the patch, but I would have to agree with Terry that from what I've seen its not a bug fix patch but more of an increase in features.

The game itself has always played fine in terms of working as advertised for me. If you outline what is happening to make it unplayable then maybe someone can help.

For a change of pace I fired up the introductory BTR scenario last night; the 1 turn Ball Bearing mission.

I chose Schweinfurt as the target. On the return trip half of my B17's did a 180 around Aachen and headed back to Schweinfurt without bombs. It wasn't a pretty sight, I lost well over 100 bombers.

So, the "turn around" bug is still there and personally I would like to see that fixed before I ever play again.

You can't defend Romania regardless if you are human or the AI. Raids are within 40 miles of an airbase and the time for the defenders to takeoff is 45 minutes or an hour. In the tech forum I read somewhere that the answer was not to position units in a certain area of the game play map. Short term expedient to say the least, but two years later and nothing, at least according to the previous poster, and nothing towards a permanent fix???
Ploesti is a prime target and simply is indefensible with the way the game sits now. Also when you try to launch interceptors elsewhere the excel type list is so screwed up. The first unit should be the closest and then other units listed according to the distance away from the raid selected to intercept. I have the first unit as a unit 500-600 miles away. After that the ranges vary all over the place. A minor point I readily admit but still annoying.
Also in Italy and elsewhere but mostly Italy, I have tried to intercept Allied raids and the SW is so screwed up that certain air units do not come up in the list as available to intercept yet they should be available. They are not that far away and should be listed far sooner than they are. You have to wait till the raid moves to a closer area of the map till the groups become available. Which leads to constant clicking to see if the groups that should have been available a 100 miles or so ago have finally been recognised by the SW and you can finally launch them.
I have no interest in the BOB side of the SW. I wish to play the GC BTR. However how can you play something when the SW is so screwed up? Romania is indefensible. It simply makes the whole effort a waste of time.

As a customer I posted the request for a update on 12/25 and was ignored. Being ignored is insulting to say the least. I think the least Matrix owes anyone that bought this SW is a newsletter update or at least a post of where the process is currently. Being ignored is to say the least disrespectful of the people that put their trust into this game by purchasing it.

I've been enjoying this games, it's change of pace and something more original in it's initial concept. However I do agree that this games needs an update...badly, to say the least. The interface and the game itself will do strange things if buttons are not clicked in a certain order, and you will find some strange things happening. I hope this new patch will add widescreen and high resolution support as well as this game badly needs it.

I agree with you. Simply put there is a fine line between mega projects and putting out a solution to bridge the gap. Expecting customers to wait all this time and ignore them when they ask for a simple update is idiotic. Put out some fixes to resolve some issues while in the background grinding towards the mega fix/update. It isn't unreasonable to expect prompt, or as prompt as it can be when dealing with SW, fixes to known issues. Telling people to just not put units in certain areas of the game map just doesn't cut it as a long term solution.

I definately agree here, the game is so 90's.

Plus, wearing out my main whinge, is that it really badly needs an editor.

You paid app $50 for something and expect the supplier to update the product to suit your whims!!!

Grow up.

Matrix owes you nothing, but they do provide patches and a forum like this FOC, try and equal this support elsewhere!

What if your request was rubbish, or maybe it will appear if/when the next patch arrives.

I personally, would prefer they don't bother and that Matrix invest time & money on developing game engines at a 2011 standard rather than rehashing 1990 games.

I wonder why they decided to release this game before the big patch?

The "turn around" bug is not scenario dependent, and is as well known on this forum as it is elusive in the game. It has happened to me in both BTR and ED. I didn't believe it either until it happened.

You've seen it before in WITP, I think it takes so long to develop the game that the last "1%" will take another "12 mths". So they release the game to keep us satisfied but have plans for patches to complete it.

Problem is finishing that last 1% as new problems needing patches occur.

hehehe,
not really, some of the old beta test group is still there and also online often.
HS was in the hospital and Harley is MIA at the moment (but that happens sometimes with most of us......life, job, family......)

Gavin (fochinell) and I are playing/testing the last 43campaign in 2 PBEMs without any real houserules (we just try not to overuse known or new found clitches and bugs)

In one game (me as Allied) we are in late 44 and in the other in early 44 (here I am axis)
If you want Gavin and me to give you some Intel, we will do it.....but we will not go into the detail of some glitches and bugs (some we know for 10 years or so.....), because some seem to be not really known as gamebreakers and some seem only to be known to very few people.
