I'm somewhat confused regarding refitting. After heavy fighting at the Volkov river in nov 41 I pulled back the 6th pz div to East Prussia for refit (and some well deserved R&R). The unit had at the time 21 Pz IV, and 11 captured T-26 (!?) the Romainians and Hungarians seems to have stolen most of the T-34:s

Now its march 1942 and the 6th Pz div still only have 21 Pz IVs and 11 T-26, the other R&R divs in East prussia have nearly full strenght of Pz IV, Pz III:s, Pz II:s and even some PIII with L60:s.

Is this normal, or is it the 11 T-26 that is the problem? All other TOE-parts of 6th Pz is at full strength, and playing with 1.04.24

Why can't we manually switch out units like with the planes? Or can you?

German tank/AFV production isn't great early on, so if multiple divisions are refitting, there's a good chance that at least one will miss out on replacements.

One would think however that this should be able to happen, why shouldnt it? Are there enough numbers you want to replace the outdated tanks with?

Yes there is nearly 300 Pz IIIs in the pool. One reason could be that 6 pz div was the only division at start that was equipped with Pz 35s as its medium tanks (and those are'nt built anymore), so I guess its an TOE upgrade issue. I have to wait and see whats happened when the divisions TOE upgrade in two turns.

I have solved the problem temporarily and assigned them a Sturmgeschutz battallion, which at least boost their armored component to over 50 veichles.

This is a know TOE issue, been there done that. Very unfortunate and is something about WitE that really bugs me when it happens to me or others. Like you mentioned you have over 300 PzIII's in the pool that you should be able to use. Looking forward to the day the devs decide to fix this for good by allowing players to swap out equipment within types.

Are those 300 Panzer IIIs Panzer IIIj L/42s or older Panzer IIIs? The default medium tank in the 1941 Panzer Division is the Panzer IIIj L/42. The system will try to replace tank losses with them if available but seems reluctant to use other available medium types especially if they are out of production.

Its March 1942 and the breakdown in my PzIII pool is: 170 Pz IIIj L/60, 66 Pz IIIj L/42, 41 Pz IIIh, 8 Pz IIIg and 4 Pz IIIe. And so far 3 divisions has begun re-equipping with the L/60.

My only other Pz div that are so low on tanks is the 20th Pz, but that unit has just been relieved from over 2 month of constant frontline action during the blizzard.

Agreed. I miss the ability to manually manage AFV selection.

It is very frustrating. I've got a game into 1943 and starting to get Panthers online. These Panthers seem to be going into divisions replacing late model PzIIIs as well as providing the new panzer element for some Mot Divs. And yet, I've still got one Pz Div that's been sitting on refit most of the winter of 42-43 that's still primarily equiped with Pz38s!

Please allow us the possibility of manual AFV upgrades

If they can't give players the ability to manually change out AFV's they should at least improve the AI's ability to make better placement of vehicles.

I hope one day they'll move to an WitE -- General's edition, allowing ToE changes, adding a German economy, and also revising the static withdrawal/reinforcement scheme...

The 42 Panzer Division TOE does not become active until April, 1942 when the Panzer IIIj L/60 then becomes the "default" medium tank. Until then the system will give priority to using the Panzer IIIj L/42 for replacements.

What panzer division is equipped with the Panzer 38s and what TOE is it following?

The latest update has revised TOEs for 1943 than speed up the introduction of the Panther tank. Unfortunately you would have to start a new game to utilize them.

You can do all these things now with the Editor; you just can't do them "on the fly" in the course of a game.
