I was about to set experience for the Soviet side in the scenario paramters. Though I wonder what number I should put to equate one (1) gold star of experience. I figure it is either 1 or 100, but which? I'm guessing 100, but I want to be sure.

100,I believe this is also in the game play manual.

Yes, each unit gains experience, and every 100 points of experience give one full star. So normally, if you are asked to enter experience, not stars, it should be 100 for each star.
