Hi all,

quote:

The demo includes one plane for each side for the player and all others flyable by the computer. I have upgraded my demo to the baseline game and bought a few planes besides that.

Kristian, isn't the demo new baseline (or baseline has more than 1 flyable aircraft for each side)?

How much did you pay for baseline?

What planes did you buy and how much was it?

Leo "Apollo11"

P.S.
I have demo.

35$... not bad... in fact vey nice for all it gives...

BTW, do you have joystick or fly with mouse keyboard?

I still have good old (and several hundred US $ worth) Thrustmaster FLCS (plus digital chip upgrade) + TQS... unfortunately the last drivers are for WinXP (i.e. no drivers for Vista or Windows 7)... <SIGH>

I have a Logitech Attack S3. Simple, utilitarian, and gets the job done.

Good Thread, that Skyraider is filthy! They couldn't have spruced it up for the air show?

Most of the filth appears to be engine exhaust. That might be as a result of running max power (possibly overboost) to give the pilot control enough to get the plane down. He did lose over 25% of his lifting surface.

I've heard the tale of the Skyraider that accidently was cat launched with it's wings still folded. In the Naval legend it was able to make a safe (if extremely hot!) landing!

I do know from talking to former Skyraider instructor pilots that the plan was tremedously OVER powered. You could not apply full power on take off without the danger of the torque flipping the airplane (as apparently many nugget avaiators found out to their dismay as they faced the "Dreaded green table"-if they survived!).

Well, true... Wonder if that was the case with late-model Corsairs and Thunderbolts as well? Those had PA-LENTY of power...

In the first picture, the Skyraider has 100% of its wings and is just as filthy. Maybe it's coal powered?

Chickenboy,

Again across the river. What the hell. Now your running out of booze!

Think me and the boys will go across the street, sit on the dike with a case of beer and a bottle or two. Look at what we have. Come on over to the tundra. Come to the dark side.

Did I mention the pony rides and balloons?

Those old engines...didn't they use higher octane stuff than we even make today? Have they re-tuned them or something?

No. As powerful as they were , I never heard of one going over due to torque.

Apparently they needed to "de-tune" them. I've talked to WW2 veterans at air shows who've often said that the aircraft don't "sound" right.
