If you use artillery, we know the defender will always take a Quality Check and may or may not take some damage as specified in the manual.

If you use off board support, ( air support or naval gunfire or heavy artillery) the manual is silent on the matter.

I have added off board support a few times and I have not seen any benefit.

What is the benefit of off-board support?

I have seen benefits. I suppose you could have some weak naval support, with a combination of trying to batter some heavy defense positions, which could make it hard to see the benefit.

I was hoping for a chart somewhat similair to the artilly chart in the manual.

You mean besides adding craters to the terrain?

Air Support and Off Board Support are basically separate/stand alone artillery attacks and use the same table, including Quality Checks and all.  The strength of the attack is pulled directly from the scenario settings.

I'll make that information clear in the updated Charts & Tables section.

Cheers
