OK...I read the readme file for version V1.04.28 – June 8, 2011 where #5) said: "Fixed bugs with weather where blizzard was happening in areas that shouldn’t have blizzard." Well, I got home from the hospital after quintuple bypass surgery a couple of weeks ago...and was real happy that this bug had been fixed. Well, much to my surprise, as I was continuing a game from before I went to the hospital...I found that in the first week of December...Blizzard conditions were still showing up in Europe and in the Crimean Peninsula. The Weather Screen Still shows Blizzard, Ice Level 7 from Magdeburg, Germany to Sevestopol to Krasnodar to Siberia.

So to check on this, I edited a scenario to start in November of 1941. Made the Ice levels 3 in each zone...same result. Blizzard, Ice Level 7 all over the map.

Has this bug been fixed? According to the revised manual (which by the way, thanks!) December in the Europe Zone, which includes Magdeburg, Sevestopol, and Krasnodar should be "snow". Thus the ice level should increase by only one to 4 for those cities. And the Blizzard combat effects and supply rules were in effect too, killing many rumanians and italians that I had planned to use to hold the fort in the Crimean peninsula.

Help! Not much good having 4 weather zones if the weather is the same in all 4!

This very important rule was in the readme for V1.03 - beta 2:

7. Missing Rule – Section 22.2 should contain an additional exception that states there will be no snow or mud during December 1941 and January 1942 (only Blizzard).

So this explains blizzard in December 41 in all zones. For November, this rule does not apply, so if you're seeing blizzard in all areas in November then something is indeed wrong. The logistics screen now shows the die rolls made in each zone so you can compare this against the weather chart.

Joel, does this apply to the non-random weather as well? If so, then the table in the manual (as well as section 22.2) should be updated as the non-random table still shows snow in December and February in the Europe section and section 22,2 does not mention the missing rule.

Thanks. That explains a lot...however, when I read that, I thought it only applied to non-random weather.

However, if it was a choice between wintering outside of Leningrad or the Crimean Peninsula, I would have Chosen the Crimea (well not the mountainous sections there

This missing rule applies to both kinds of weather. Yes, it should be in the manual and eventually will be if Leo manages to include the readme items directly into the main body of the updated manual.
