Im having just one problem with the whole game, NO MUSIC! I have been playing for over a week now and never even knew that Distant Worlds even HAD music till just a few hours ago. Now I take notice of it and it aggravates me that why everything else in the game works but the music. I mean for pete's sake, I had to go into the games music file and load them all up on my music player and turn on shuffle in the background to try and simulate normal play. I made sure I didnt have the music volume in the game options all the way down in fact I have it all the way up. Anyone know why, or better yet how to fix it?

Have noticed the same thing but with the sound effects, the music is ok. However it doesn't last and restarting the game seems to get rid of it.
Do you use any mods?

I only use Diverse Worlds since its the only real changing mod without turning the whole game into a Star Trek periodity (I have nothing against star trek, I just play these short of games so I can write my own story so I prefer it to be original.) But the music didnt even work before I downloaded the mod, not once. This is just baffling me

It may sound strange but I remember noticing that if you use the options in the main menu and the same options once you're in game you get different results. Still, this is a strange behavior and I'm also not sure what fixed it for me.
I also seem to remeber getting this problem once I launch the game while something else was playing. If it's a problem that the game has with the sound card you can try reinstalling it to see if that fixes it.

Yap, I had the Iron Maiden playing in the background on windows media player.....come to think of it, the game also needs wmp so maybe that was the trigger.
