ORIGINAL: Chickenboy I hate to be the bearer of bad news, mate, but I suggest putting it aside in a rainy day fund. You're a young guy with a wee one and an uncertain job future by your own admission. $200 USD can be handy in a pinch. You'd feel like a first class twat if you needed something for your kid whilest you were between jobs or in the midst of a move and couldn't provide for it. In this context $200 is way too much money to plunk down on a board game, IMO. Then again, I typically vote for the 'sensible party' over the silly or very silly party when it comes to financial matters. Aye, the rainy day fund idea is a sensible one indeed. Cheers for the input. I've got a rainy day fund set up which generally gets between 25-33% of my spendable cash each month (works out at about 17% of my annual salary before the RAF take off taxes etc). I'm making plans on the assumption that I'll be getting the boot in Jan 2013, so I'm looking into the job market now and I hope to have a job lined up next summer during my terminal leave. I've just stuck the vast majority of my recent bonus in the fund as well, which is the only reason I'm even contemplating spending the money. Mrs D is happy with me having spending money as I've only managed to spend £30 on myself in the last two months. Goodboy! Now give yourself a biscuit! Or a board game! And if there is spousal disapproval, you could point out "It's not a sports car!". Speaking of board games, any that you want to dust off for the upcoming BBB? I will bring 'Family Business' along with me-Lou will appreciate that, I suspect. She's OK with foul language, in a bad Chicago-style accent isn't she? Lou OK with foul language? This is the lady whose CPO once asked me if I'd talk to her about HER language. It was disturbing her sailors! (I think in another life she was a boatswain's mate). She's fine with games. And she's a HUGE movie nut. A more important question is what would you like to do? We know the SAC museum , shooting and the Planes at Offut, and I'm hoping that the river will be down enough so we could see "Freedom Park". USS Hazard (MSW) , the Marlin (SST-actually a training submarine) and various vehicles and such. But let me know what your intrest are.
