When I first started working on this scenario I figured that I could have it ready in maybe 2 years. Now, 6 years later I finally have a product I'm testing and that works.
I'll be writing a AAR of one of the games I'm running against my brother, which I'll start posting sometime next week. I'm working on the extended briefing atm, which also is a bigger task than I thought, if it's not to look like ****. Once I get that done, I'll open up for a more public testing.

Pic of the map can be found http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/fb.asp?m=2447402 and otherwise here is some blending of real and game map I toyed with.

Impressive! And Btl/Rgt sized units! How many units?

Klink, Oberst

Looks brilliant - very nice map - both the layover and the game version on the other thread.  Nice detail - looking forward to playing that!

Yes, Germans use battalions as base inf size, Soviets regiments.
About 1000 vs. 1500 when no divided units.

Yes, very impressive and very attractive.

What's the time scale (days/months) for this ? as well as scope of the map (all the way to the Panther Line and south to ? ) ?

Map is some 190x140 at 2.5km hexes. Half-day turns. What you see in the linked thread is pretty much it. Lower edge of map runs just south of a line Kholm-Ostrov. No action north of Leningrad.

You're still on this! Excellent - great looking map.

6 years? Wow! And i thought i am insane, took me 2 years until the first public release of Anzio and i'm still fiddling around with it..

Looking forward to this!

I'm also happy to see I'm not the only one spending years on a scenario. I'm only about 2.5 years in at this point.

OK, I can now send a somewhat complete test version (still lacking a bit in scenario description) to those interested in having a look. Just send me an e-mail or PM through here.

Sometimes when having spent a lot of time on something, things that seem self-evident to me, will be seem confusing or errorneous to others, so any feedback welcome and I'll figure out if it's a bug or something that needs better described.
If anyone is interested in starting a playtest against me, I would like that as well.

Impressive. Thanks for your efforts and work. Feels like a game of its own.

Just opened the file, began to read the doc. (Did i inspire you with the Anzio doc?)

One thing though: German MGs seem overrated to me. MGs generally seem to be overrated. But then, you must have tested it and i didn't yet even move a unit nor fire a shot.

I like what you've done with the equipment. +1

@Steve sPzAbt653: PBEM? (my other opponents will curse me.. but hey, if they saw this..)

Yes, your briefing-file was as good as they get, so obviously I've used it as template to base mine on. As I wrote, I'm still not finished with it.

As for MGs I know it's sort of a drastic change, even the soviet HMG is twice the AP as default, but so far it seems to work.

I got the PM Stefan but I can't get to the site. I think I am inept, or something.

You mean Snefens. But i had problems, too.

I received a e-mail notification with the content of Snefen's PM. Follwing the link from my e-mail client didn't work. Following the link from the actual PM here at Matrix did it.

However google asked me to log in with my google account. So if you don't have a google account you may create one.

Or ask Snefens to send it by e-mail. The file is 5.3 MBs, i think it should make it by e.mail.

Ah, no Google account here. Maybe Snefens can e-mail to us so that we may consume the scenario??

Actually my real name is Stefan too, so Steve got it right Stefan.

Still can't make it work? I changed the accesability. Signing in, shouldn't be required.

Yes, I made the .eqp-file from scratch just for this. Took some work, but it was nice to be able to make the required equipment directly, instead of trying to find a adequate substitution.

Yes, a huge amount of work.

And thanks for fixing the entry for the SdKfz 135/1 !

Is the .eqp file specific to the scenario regarding location and time, or did you include stuff from other time periods? It looks like maybe the West Front wasn't included. Certainly not complaining, just wanted to clarify.

I only added things I needed for this period and location. It's not an attempt to do a universal 44-era or even east front .eqp file

I have to say i am impressed. The .eqp looks great. The map is beautiful. The deployment ... i don't have words to describe it. Well done!

Why do the air units use both types of symbols? I.e. both the little airplane silhouette and the NATO symbol.

Because I haven't got around to redrawing them. I plan on having the icons show the siluette of the plane in the unit.
Making it possible to tell which unit is a 109 and which is a 190 i.e.

In normal zoom they will maybe look almost identical, but eventually I would like to add huge counters as an option, where more details can be added.
