I started a long campaign as the Soviets, with my force including 4 37mm flak guns, as there was no way to purchase 76.2mm or 85mm guns with the current OOB. I was delaying on my first missions, and when German Stuka's came, large ammounts of 37mm flak filled the sky, shooting many Stuka's down.
Figuring that if the 37's could do so well, then 85's could do great, I edited the OOB myself to include heavy AA as a formation. I restarted the campaign, bought 6 85's, and, once again, was delaying the germans as my first mission. Result - 1 single 85mm shot fired at a Stuka (Which hit, by the way). No more. Some strikes passed BETWEEN the guns, and one Stuka even managed to bomb an 85 that was pointed at the direction that the Stuka came from(!), all without getting shot at. I was dissapointed, to say the least. The guns were not suppressed and had plenty of shots and ammo.
I have yet to test this theory with 76.2mm flak guns, but is it just the 85's or something about "Heavy Flak" versus regular "Flak"?
