HARUMPH!

Unless they're amphibious moles, Steve, a good flood is likely to drown the ****ers, so look at the bright side.

Before my lawn floods, all of Offutt AFB will be underwater, along with Most of Omaha and Bellevue. You see, I chose wisely!

I belive I've gotten rid of the little $$%^^&^%$##$%!!!!! Poison, drowning and gas didn't work. So I exterminated theeir food source...GRUBS! I've not seen a new hole or burrow for nearly a month. So I don't get to use my Mole guiollotine, or other traps. (or left over 4th of July fireworks!).

I tried drowning them before, they just converted one burrow to a juccuzzi/swimming pool.

Steve McQueen, in his character Josh Randall in the TV series "Wanted Dead or Alive", carried a cut down Winchester 92 (as pictured) called "The Mares leg". In order to build the weapon for the show, the studio had to jump through all kinds of federal law and regulations, as law fron the 1920's (an anti-gangster act) prohibits ANYONE from cutting down a rifle or shot gun. Strangley enough , the law doesn't prohibit constructing one from scratch. So a company called Rossi makes "The Ranch hand". Although it's available in the original colt 45-110, it's also sold in 44 mag (mine) or 38 special. I looks like a real fun (and unusual) gun to shoot.

For any Sci-Fans out there , the character Zoe in "Firefly" and "Serenity" (The co-pilot/1stmate) carried one.

I bet! I wouldn't know how to aim the thing-from the shoulder (too short) or from a standard pistol firing stance (too awkward with the grip).

From watching WDorA and firefly, it seems to be either fired from the hip, or by resting it on something (for aimed fire). That's my guess. I'll let you know how it goes when I finally get it on the range. (Or we could make it an event for the Beef,Beer and bomber summit?)

Steve McQueen could fire the gun and cock it with one hand. This obviously left his other hand free to operate his Kindle. I don't know for sure which version, but since it is Steve McQueen I'm betting on the 9.7" model.

That's where yer wrong, homey. Steve McQueen never had to operate his own Kindle. There was a line of voluptuous blondes standing in line to operate his kindle for him.

That same gun was used in The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. It was carried by Brisco's partner Lord Bowler. When Firefly came out Joss Whedon wanted Zoe to carry his "Favorite weapon of all time", the one used in Brisco just happened to be available.
