Reading all the posts about Aussie gamers getting together got me thinking. (You can probably smell the rubber burning. :D) Are there any gamers here from the New England area who might like to get together and swap stories and hoist a few?

I'm a transplant to Rhode Island. I even root for the Red Sox. I get to the Boston area once a month or so (M-I-L lives up there)

Hi

I've been thinking about a more international meeting in New York!

Outstanding, Paul! Next time you head up this way, if you have the time, we could meet somewhere.

We should all head over to Fall River and meet on the Massachusetts next spring...

I'm in Massachusetts, but will be moving to NYC within the next few weeks. A meeting in NYC would be great.

Fall river would be doable for me. NYC would be a problem. The U.S.S. Constitution would also be a good meeting place. (I believe they also have a Fletcher class DD near Old Ironsides.)

I'm a New Englander as well. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to take time out to make a get-together anytime soon - such is the life of Professor before you get tenure - but if people ever get together during the Summer I might be able to make it.

Paul,

Yup, Citadel Games is still around - I guess the folks at the sub base make good customers.

Unfortunately for me, I only discovered Citadel about a year ago (I'm a transplant from Pennsylvania). And you're right, they do sponsor smaller conventions from time to time. I think there was an ASL tournament a few years back. Next time I go there I'll ask to see if there's anything coming up that might be of interest to the Matrix crowd. If there is I'll be sure to report back since that would be a good get-togeher possibility.

I am too! I was born in Danville and spent the first six years of my life in Bloomsburg. Whereabouts in Penna are you from?

I was born and raised in a little town that is just outside of Erie called North East. Other side of the state. Although, when I was in college (at PSU) I knew some people from Danville.

We have a fairly large gaming group here in Vermont. In fact, we have a convention coming up where (among other things) we'll be re-fighting the siege and (possibly) relief of Khartoum with miniatures and 20-30 players! There are lots of wargaming events, it's one of the reasons I attend every year. Check out www.carnagecon.com , it's the first weekend in November. If any of you plan on attending, drop me a line at erikr@matrixgames.com and we can get together for lunch and some gaming.

Regards,

- Erik

No, actually there is a town called North East in Penna! Here is a map from Mapquest showing its location:

(Penna also has a town named Jim Thorpe, after the famous athelete.)

I'm a little late, but I live in Coventry RI now and would love to hook up somewhere in New England for just about anything. Feel free to send me a e-mail if anything gets fleshed out. I was born in New Hampshire so I know the area very well.

I'd be interested if anything was set up in Mass. or RI. Does anyone know of any good boardgaming clubs in Eastern MA other than the MIT gaming society?

There are 4-5 of us here in Ct that get together a couple Saturdays a month (one hell of an understanding wife!) to conduct a campaign together. Anybody else interested in that sort of idea?

Hey I'd love a part of that. Where in CT are you? Anything in the eastern half of the state is in easy driving distance for me. :)
