I find that the naval aspects of this game interests me the most, and as such I've become most interested in trying out the various alternate naval mods-particularly JuanG's ones, and eventually RA. After I learn a bit more about the game I was thinking to start a newb AE AAR, but was thinking of doing one of these mods for a change of pace, since there are plenty of Scenario 1/2 aars (and Greyjoy's act would be very hard, if not impossible to match). Now there are a couple RA aars , but no recent ones from the ridiculous JuanG mods. Which I feel are ridiculous in a good way, since they have potential for a very different feeling game. So my question is, do they work for a long game? None of the way back aars seemed to last past the first year, and one ended due to Japan running out of fuel. Does anyone know if this is inevitable due to the heavily increased naval oobs, or whether it was just a circumstance of that game?

I can't tell beyond 1942, because my game didn't last this long (thanks mostly to the factors related to land combat, and land units weren't significantly changed in these mods, AFAIK), but in 1942 the Enhanced BBs mod works reasonably well.

The mod looks interesting and fun.  Don't know about the fuel issue but lots of toys on both sides to play with.

On the game where Japan ran out fuel - that was because Magwe remained in allied hands and Palembang's facilities were completely destroyed during capture.

The Enhanced variants have notably increased fuel production in the HI and Manchuria, so fuel should not generally be a major issue, unless you fail to secure the SRA. The exception to this is the Ultimate BB variant, where running the whole fleet around WILL run you dry.

Thanks FatR-well that does explain it, I guess Palembang destroyed + Magwe would put a nice dent in Japanese fuel production in a regular game, much less a battleship heavy one.

Edit: Thanks JuanG as well-nice to see you posting again. Though in my Ult Battleship game vs AI, I've already lost 3 BC/BB by late December...so that's one way to solve that problem
