Hi, i have the latest member patch installed for " road to arnhem" (5.60.51) and made several Grand Campaign (allies side) and i noticed that i have not the timer who indicate the blowing bridge time remaining ! it is a change due to this patch or a bug ? DBZ , in the forum , report that in certains date matters , it is a tank who detonate the bridge , as i understand ? is this correct and why ? again , i noticed that , i can change the component of the germain side ...what it is the interrest ? i change nothing in the other side rooster but i find the campaign easy ( too much) and don't find the same challenge that in the original who left the souvenir of a difficult one to finish on the allies side ....if i don't change nothing , is the I.A use all it can use to beat me ???? Thanks for more explanations for the good use of this great game !

Only the German player can destroy the bridges. And the German player must control all the victory locations on a bridge in order to be able to see the timer and destroy the bridge. And must maintain control of those VL's throughout the timer/destruction process.

I don't understand your question about the tank detonating a bridge. Unit types have nothing to do with bridge destruction. A specific unit type is not required. Just that you control ALL of the bridge VL's and don't lose them during the detonation process.

Being able to change the opposing sides forces is one way you can assist the A.I. for a little bit tougher challenge. You can combine this with some set-up and unit selection rules imposed upon yourself to take it one step further. If your tactical play abilities have risen to the point of beating the A.I. I'd recommend playing against a human player for a tougher challenge. It really can't be beat.

Thanks to for your answer and your explanation , it's seems to me that i see the remaining time when i play allies trying to take a bridge , but , perhaps i confuse with  the original game ??? it is , in fact , more realistic to not see the time remaining like in reality  ! the tank detonating is related with a post of a certain DBZ mentionning  that ..... in fact , if i understand well, if the germans controls all the vl's , there is no way to avoid the destruction of bridge ? i see that several times , i try rush of men and /or tanks without result ! i try to undestand how i can  take the  bridges  intact  ! thanks to help ! For the question of the change of opposing forces , i prefer to do nothing and dont' see , in advance , the force of my opponent , like in real  ...but , the question is ,as above, if i don't change nothing , is the I.A use all it can use to beat me ? or it is necessary to manage the other side ? that i find a little bizarre ...I persist ,in my opinion , to see the game a liitle more easy and , in my opinion , does not reflect the difficulties encountered in real by the allies : a change in options or difficulty ( line for germans elite for allies ? ) For example , i make the Grand Campaign in 3 days less , with only the 30 th corp ( i disband all the others troops ) !!!!! I agree with the better challenge playing online , i have already an Battle HQ account when i play the originals Close Combat but i  dont' succeed  to play  online , perhaps a tutorial somewhere ?

Thanks again to take time to read me and eventually answering .
JG

Thanks for the suggestion about being able to hide the timer. It's been suggested before. We'll keep in mind as a possible enhancement. It's possible to take the bridges intact by moving very quickly and obtaining a swift victory. The A.I. attempts to fill it's roster by unit type. When those unit types run out it fills the roster with whatever is available. You can change the game settings prior to starting your campaign to adjust the difficulty levels to your liking. I'm not aware of any tutorials on how to use BHQ.
