House Rules:

1.  No frisbees, lava lamps, or love beads.
2.  No pilot training.
3.  Confederate Navy gets a +5 bonus on dice rolls.
4.  No posts by people mesmerized by malarial insects.
5.  Ehanced Japanese capabilities as long as the Allies are able to easily conquer Japan by August 1945 without having to sweat too much.
6.  College football to be incorporated in the game down to scheduling and selecting the Heisman Trophy winner.
7.  Ingrid Bergman shall appear in the opening video for all Allied players.
8.  The Allied mascot is the Georgia Bulldog.
9.  The Japanese mascot is the U.Cal. Banana-slug
10.  John III cannot invade California before turn 30.

P.S.  Sorry about this entire thread - it was originally meant for the main page to invite discussion (non-political) about our current economic situation.  Somehow, I posted it on the AAR page, which undoubtedly will haunt me for weeks to come as you rascalls unleash myriad deviltry.

Dadgum it.

RE rule No. 6, can we get a college football playoff? It would be bigger than the Super Bowl, you know.

As for our economic situation, I have a lot of thoughts as my Dad and I are investors.

I shall cerainly ignore this as the trivial amusements of Colonial powers bore me.

By the way. Does anyone know of a good Thai restaurant in the Weste End?

I think we're all condiment neutral here, Cap'n. If you choose to ignore it with relish, might I suggest mustard? "Pardon me monseur-would you happen to have any Grey Poupon?"

Whoa there! Condiment neutrality is like Communism! Ketchup and mayo rule. Yellow and Dijon mustards are evil. German mustard is the only true yellow condiment faith.

Hey!

Dadgum it.

I've got another house rule for you: how about English as a common tongue for the AAR? Ancient runes, Sanscrit, latin and ancient perjorative terms like "dadgum", "dadblast" and "shucks" have no place in a modern AAR.

I always thought it was "Dadgumit". Never realized it was two words. I'll have to listen more carefully to Walter Brennan again.

It is pronounced "Dadgummit" PaxMondo, what CR just used is an honored Southern tradition called a Yankee trap.  Only a yankee would fall for saying it as two different words.

Having never heard of either of these players before, I thought I would go out and collect some personal references for both the opponents.

quote:

"Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more."

George S. Patton

It seems that Nobody may have a weakness in his game play.

quote:

"No one will deny that the excessive use of alcohol and alcoholic beverages would do more than any other single factor to make impossible a total war effort."

William Lyon Mackenzie King

On the other hand it appears his opponent intends to play this game whilst inebriated to balance things up a bit...

This looks like this will be one interesting AAR...

You may have correctly identified the first player, but, if you look carefully, the second player is "Noone" not " No one".

I think we may have a celebrity among us. I suspect CR is secretly that guy from Herman's Hermits.

So now it is all becoming clear!!

This is going to be a no holds barred stoush (look it up) between Terence Hill and Peter Noone with input from John III but not PoultryLad (sorry but them's the rules as handed down by the emcee) and all conducted with myriad deviltry.

Boy, I'll bet CR wishes everyone would disregard this thread......

Gentlemen, I cannot disregard this as there is breaking news!

Radio reports from Pearl Harbor indicate that No one is attacking the base! I repeat, no one is attacking! Damage is surprisingly heavy given that no one is piloting the Japanese aircraft over Pearl. Then again, perhaps this is due to the fact that nobody is flying combat air patrol.
