Hi All.

I finally bought TOAW III. As an owner of the original game, I quickly loaded up Crusader '41 from the Classic TOAW folder. At the end of turn 3, the game has stopped responding. I'm running TOAW 3.4 in Win 7 64bit. TOAW has not been set to be compatibile to any previous versions of Windows.

Any idea of what might be wrong? Do I need to fine tune TOAW, or are the older scenarios incompatible with the new engine?

Thanks,

Mike

Older scenarios should work fine, Micheal. I assume your running the 3.4.0.202 version?

I'd suggest testing with some of the 'newer' sce to see if they run, and then let us know, eh?

Yes, that is the version I'm running. Thanks for the help, I'll see how things go with the other scenarios

You're not waiting long enough.

What causes this delay? I understand this might be an issue from reading other posts. I'll try to let the scenario "think" for a while to see exactly how long it takes, but I can't help but think that extended delays during game play would be viewed as an unwanted feature. Are the delays limited to the classic scenarios?

Thanks,
Mike

Hmmm.

I'll have you note that I've no problem running puter vs puter to T-6, will check axis puter tomorrow. This was run with 'everything' turned on, so I'm not sure what your problem really consists of.

You might well turn the compatablity to 'XP' and try that. Toaw isn't a Win 7 native, eh?

Crusader shouldn't stall on a high-end or even low-end *like my netbook* system. Have you got the .SAL file that I can run it on my 1.6GHz netbook?

Thanks for checking, it must be something in my system. As Mr. Lemay noted, the scenario may need more time, but I'm running TOAW on a pretty fast system. Thank you all for your help, and I don't mean to be difficult, but Crusader was one of my favorites that shipped with the original game and I was really looking forward to giving it another play after 12 years.

Mike

Well, Mike, I'd suggest doing some reading as others have had probs with 7 as well. I'll note that the axis puter did not hang on my XP machine either, so I'd expect it's all about how you've got the game set to run.

Good luck!
