ORIGINAL: Webizen I'd suggest starting another random game as without any original cities you have no supply. You are defeated. I'd also suggest reading Vic's ATG War College articles. Oh no, I think I could be in trouble as I have not realized this. I lost my last original city about 20 turns prior to when I last posted on here. I just played about 30 more turns. I have a couple HQ's laying around that are packed full of supplies, my main one with just over 160,000 and another just over 10,000. Supplies are slowly going away and unless I can recapture a city I am doomed. I can NOT believe I am going to lose this game. I wish I could have video taped it all and posted it on youtube as this had to be one of the single closest games I had ever played against any AI. Not talking about just ATG, I am talking any game. I had some nail biters in the Civ series in the past and this one was right up there. I have found a lot has changed here in ATG compared to AT and for the better. For one thing the AI is a lot stronger now. Is it one of those that learns as you play? Reason I ask this is because I would be tearing it apart with certain things then eventually it would come back at me and counter really strong. Example and why I finally realize its over is because I had huge oil reserves and was bombing the hell out the AI units. This lasted about 15 turns then next thing I know the party was over. All of these fighters would swarm in and trash my unescorted bombers one after another. It got to the point where I was scared to launch an airstrike on anything. My airforce is now down to nearly nothing and land units are just closing in on me. I suppose the turning point was when they captured my capital and last couple cities. I may post an AAR up if anyone wants to see. This one is good as over so I guess I will find out the deal with the ships in my next game. I will fight on a little more just for the glory. Hehe that was a good read and it reflects my experience with ATG exactly, a darn good AI. Many random games I've played were like "conquer the world on a shoestring". You're short on oil, short on ore, short on tanks and troops, short on everything. The worst thing that can happen is a multi front war against the AI, that's just plain awful. There are many times when you think you've finally beaten one of the AI's, next thing you know it's back with a vengeance. And please do post that AAR, it's always nice to see you're not the only one having trouble with an AI... LOL I don't know how you played your game but if your HQ's were packed with supplies then you did something wrong, only produce what you need, plus something extra (for upgrading units, wintertime, etc.) The rest of the prod. capacity you can then use to build troops. Engineers are probably *the* most important unit in the game, they build roads, bridges, factories and airfields. I tend to have one or two per HQ, each 30-50 engineers in an unit.
