The F-22 and the F-35 are both white elephants, just like the Osprey and Comanche.

As was the M-16 rifle, the M-1 tank, the B-29,the Harrier, the helicopter and damn near ANY new device that is either totally new technology or pushing the boundries. We should have stay safe with "The Brown Bess" musket or a cross bow. "Everybody knows" ....."that'll never fly", "work", "space is a waste"...., and of course the big one "why waste the money on something new?". Geeze Kristian....I thought I was supposed to be the geezer around here.

I agree with you, Steve. I remember a number of "expose" types of news reports when the Bradley fighting vehicle came out. It was a freakin' fire trap-totally unreliable and totally not ready for prime time. Then Desert Storm I came and lo and behold! The Bradleys performed admirably in a most inhospitable environment.

The Osprey has been serving well for a few years now too and the F-22 is a game-changer, needed to up the ante against the latest Russian designs and their Chinese copies.

Where did you camp?

Regional park just south of the Twin Cities. Nice little campground-we got an awesome spot and the place was practically deserted. In the middle of Summer? WTF?

Tithe...

Dixie finishes nights today so I might get a turn! I can hardly wait. I think I know what I need to do with regard to early expansion/production etc and have a couple of mistakes to sort out. Sinking some more of his ships as well would be nice...

Does anyone know if I can use my facebook account to host my sig picture? If not, are there any decent hosting sites in the uk? I did a search, but do not know which ones are safe to use.

Carl, why can't you use "ImageShack" for example?

It's free and I never had problem with them (I host all my WitE developers pictures there when I need to post several pictures in one post - Matrix forum only allows 1 picture per post even in developer's forum)...

Falklands War boardgame. Designed for those of us who are friendless and have to play solitaire boardgames

http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/35614/where-there-is-discord-war-in-the-south-atlantic

I had a quick play to figure out the rules, I got a week and a half into the campaign and achieved bugger all! Bad weather and Soviet sabre rattling limited the task force progress towards the islands. I did agree to launch an SAS raid on Rio Grande, but it went a bit wrong. They destroyed one of the five Argentine Exocets but suffered casualties and had to surrender. Then I had to go to work. After I've sorted all my PBEM stuff it'll be time to take it for a proper drive.

The game looks interesting. There is no way I could play it - too many kids/dogs, too little house...

I don't have a list. One person is not enough to qualify as a list

Sigh. Summers end nears. Vikings vs. Titans.
One hella'va rain yesterday after work. Some hail up to qaurter size. And the rain. 2 to 3 inches in under 15 minutes. And yet a buddy about ten blocks away. Nothing. Interesting to watch a radar afterward. Formed right on top us. Fun to watch tough.
