Speaking of cav corps, it's a good move to use the new rifle divisions you have coming in from the east to replace the cavalry ones in the front lines.  Start pulling the cavalry together for merging into corps.  That way they will be ready for quick use at the start of blizzard.

Great idea. I'll do it. I've noticed that I can't build any Rifle Corps yet. That and no tank Corps yet. I don't have the date that they will be available memorized yet like the rest of you guys.

I've been beginning each new turn by looking at the units, sorting on ascending "%TOE", and setting all those units with less than 90% TOE to refit and all those 90 or higher to "reserve" . The scroll thumb is hardly 1/3 the way down the scroll bar which means that most of my units are refit and ready for combat.

@M60A3TTS

thanks for the list but I had it already.  Handy little list to have around sometimes.

EDIT: I made a picture of the front lines at the end of T21 and at the beginning of T22 before any Soviet movement so this animation
should have the Axis movement depicted for T22: Kevin is backing his units away from mine to cut down on attrition losses I guess.

I'm building the 48th Army to be tanks only and so I've added some more tanks to the 48th Army to make it even bigger yet.

If I sort my Army and Corps HQ units by Higher Headquarters then I can see at a glance how many Armies are attached to each of the Front HQ's.

I did some Axis air base strikes and got some good hits on Kevin's recon planes. He might ought to consider parking some fighters at all his bases and mostly ignore what kind of planes are "supposed" to go on which base. I've made some successful strikes on bases that have only bombers and recon planes. Only a handful of his bases have only fighters on the hex. Of course spreading them out would dulite the air-fighter-ness of the fighter units. I guess.

I've got the 48th Army, the tank only army, in Reserve in the north theater and I'm thinking I might need to move them south to the
Crimea to take advantage of the better terrain down there. What do you guys think?

I moved 66 of the 70 T-34 factories out of Kharkov while it was still possible. That gave me 55% damage at the destination, which I don't remember which one it is now. Not that it's important. Some small town in the far north east.

Is he withdrawing in the Southern Ukraine? If so that makes no sense at all. Put piles of Cav Corps down there, and rampage west.

You should have a terrific Blizzard if you mass your forces correctly.

Hmm, depending on your opponent withdrawing, you may have a pocket attempt on his troops east of Valukie Luki. I would push your troops north of that area SW through the swamps, and your Smolensk offensive keep pushing west. Any mobile formations you can muster (aka, your tank army, and any calvary corps, unless you take them south to break him there) should swing north through the gap you are opening towards Valukie Luki. You will either take that whole area from his retreat, making your north infinity defensible in 1942. It looks like you wouldn't have to commit your mobile forces just yet, you have a turn or two more to see what he does.

Maybe not a bad idea....but not in SNOW! If he's running in SNOW turns, it's going to be pretty brutal for him in Blizzard.

Get your Cav Corps ready...this is going to be a wipeout. See you in Poland, Comrade!

The war is already over. He is way too far west, doesn't have Leningrad, didn't cause enough casualties and didn't capture enough factories. Gaining the Cherkassy-Gomel-Mogilev-Vitebsk-VL line seems almost a given. Additionally, he has to stop running somewhere or you will retake Kiev, Pskov and even Minsk. And once he stops, you will be fighting unfortified Germans in Blizzard.

Basically you have an auto-win from here. Launch a broad front offensive with many local attacks aimed at causing casualties, and perhaps cutting off some individual units. Reach a defensible stop-line for Spring 42. Use early/mid 42 to fortify, build up corps, and start bulldozing him off the map starting in mid/late 42 by virtue of a vastly superior replacement rate.

I did some Axis air base strikes and got some good hits. He's still not parking some fighters on bases that have non-fighters based there. I mean he's got bombers and recon at a base where there's no fighters in the hex on their air base. I'm pretty sure he'd have less losses if he did that.
