The Royal Navy became "The Royal Navy" on the coronation day of Charles II, so I guess that's it's official birthday.

The RN still doesn't swaer an oath of allegience to the crown (or anyone else for that matter), it's the only one of the 3 UK services that doesn't.

Holland 1 was launched in 1901.

Some of the attempts are more clever and less obvious than this. Its more about catching the person unaware and having them act before their brains catch up with them than out and out lack of intelligence. Its probably considered easier to do now given how connected online our lives have become. Ironically.......there's alot of suspicison and resistance to doing sensitive transactions using PDA's still. Guess its easier to imagine someone intercepting your signals.
