I have been using local reserve settings in my D21 game and find the tactic worth a discussion since under 3.4, if i am not mistaken full movment points are restored during enemy turn as is the movment cost of terrain newly aquired counted as freindly! Has anyone else found my thinking? I would really like to hear from those Players with wet blankets. Being wrong sucks but losing realy sucks :P

I think the calculation is performed at the beginning of each players turn for that sides units, but not for both sides units. So if you moved your unit to its full potential, and then assigned it to Local Reserve, it wouldn't regain movement points for the enemy turn. I haven't tried this, though. Are you saying that you are getting different results?

YES SP that is what i think is happening..we have a different game now..on one of my d21 turns i had a mass of stuff move up the minsk orsha road during enemy counter attack that i had held back or was outa moves..if movement resets every half turn it changes the whole dynamic of local reserves

Ok, so I moved the grey Panzer unit around until it had only 3 mp's left and then ended the turn. In player 2's turn I moved the red Recon unit next to the Panzer unit and it showed that it has 15 mp's. Player 1 Recovery at the start of player 2's turn ?

I guess later I might try getting some player 2 units to attack and see if some player 1 units that moved to their fullest will still respond if set to Local Reserve.

Yikes!

If this is true a hot patch is needed.

Not a bug. Works as intended. From the 3.4 What's new:
quote:

I. PLAYER-TURN EQUALIZATION (AKA “NEW TURN ORDER RULES”) (Optional):
[...]
Also, note that movement recovery is done twice for each side (start of each player-turn).

Ok, was going to read the rules then run more tests, but now the rules have been read so no reason to run more tests.

I brought this up some time ago from the point of Player 2 recovering at the beginning of his turn, but the discussion went nowhere so I guess everyone (or most) see it as being ok. I don't agree, but I also don't care much as I don't use the New Turn Rules unless the scenario briefing specifies to do so.
