I still like to play CC CoI, TC2M and RTW (Extended Greek Mod). Oh, and also Flashpoint Germany and Highway to the Reich.

Same here. I modded it to be more like UFO (movement rates, weapons damage, etc.) and some other things.

It's taken me a while to get up to snuff with playing this one well again. I finally have a decent run going now.

Two things I learned about X-Com in general:

1) Don't fall in love with any character. They are all just fed into the meat grinder at some point.

2) When struggling in the past finance-wise, my brother gave me some sage advice: "X-Com is a business. Run it like one." Get those engineers to work and sell stuff. Relying completely on the monthly government handout is a recipe for failure.

Panther's HTTR, COTA and BFTB.

Also Atomics' V4V and WaW series.

I'd have loved to be able to add Combined Arms to this list...but......well..........you know.....

Steel Panthers. Its been on my Hard Drive(s) in one form or another since 1995.

I think that beats any other game hands down.

Nice!

Have you tried the new Combat Mission?

Hi,

i use a DOSBOX utility called D-Fend Reloaded. Works like a charm........

I haven't reinstalled them off the disks mind you.....I just keep copying the games from old hard drive(s) to new as I've upgraded over the years, so I'm not sure how that would be done now. There used to be downloadable versions at the Underdogs but that site seems to have morphed into something else.

Maybe someone else here on the forums can help??

Rob.

Close Combat, all of them. At least 0,5 to 2 times per year I can't resist the urge to get back into the action.

At our lan parties:
Midtown Madness 1+2 - Cops v robbers mode, greatest LAN games ever made.
Codename Eagle (predecessor of BF1942) on its one good map :).

Guys tend to play often, or at least keep all options open. To be really sure, ask him, or tell him, that you are not the girl to play with (i.e. that you not except any playing behavior if he is serious interested -

Lots of surprises here, guys. Assuming the OP meant "really old games" you keep playing, wow. No offense please, but how could someone invest their incredibly valuable and limited time on Panthers in the Shadows, et al, when there are so many great games not mentioned here. I tried going back to SPMBT, but the micromanagement was crushing. It took me hours of boredom just getting to the battle part of some of those campaigns. But I will get a copy of Plants and Zombies when it goes on sale for $1.66 again. The oldest game on my HD right now is SSG's Battles for Normandy and Flashpoint Germany. The latter's canned scenarios were uninspired, but you had the ability to make some great ones on your own. Thanks!

This can still suck some time right out of your life, before you know it... (I remember thinking that was just the usual sales hype on the box!)

WarCraft II is my favorite of the old Blizzard games. The only reason I haven't installed it on my latest PC is because I read it will not run under 64-bit Windows 7.

Other old games I still play are Master of Magic, Heroes of Might and Magic (II and III), and Disciples II. I also like the original Sid Meier's Colonization, but I haven't gotten around to getting it up and running on my Windows 7 machine...yet.
