I don't have time to deal with the SUs thing. I let the AI handle. I will have to check if my units involved in this fight have been well supported or not. Too bad that I can not open my file again...

Well, Olivier, you are showing lots of French elan, but a poor '41 means the disparity in strength is too great for you to do a successful offensive and he will just grind you down

You can transfer armies direct to OKH control. They don't fight so well so best for quiet areas if there are any. It does mean, though, that you can reduce overloading of AGs. Command capacity also went up in april - see manual.

thanks for the advice and I know that I won't be abble to achieve a succesful offensive...but I have to try and learn from it. My opponent has around 6000 afvs so far. I would like to destroy a bunch of them during the offensive.

Turn 49, mud again.
I did some reorganisation. Three armies have been transfered to OKH.
Army group center is now in the Sumy area. I did put Model in charge of it.
Army group south is in the Poltava area. Guderian is in charge.
Here is the order of battle.
(I will move a corp from the 1er panzer to the 2nd the next turn. I had not enough aps left)
It seems that in front of me are concentrated a lot of soviet armies. Does he have some reserve too ?
Some part of the front are at a level 2 of entrenchment. Hope to get a clear weather the next turn...

Around 2 000 afv, 15 500 guns and 1 400 000 men waiting to launch a massive offensive. Who is the big man ?
Here is the losses this turn. Is that just because of the attrition ?

Traemyn mailed me that he has been a little scared when he found out what my panzers did...
Now he must be confident because his counter attack has been very powerful. Here is what I have just discover

Again, the soviets have counter attack succesfuly. I knew it would happen but I had to do something. (I have destroy some of his fortification...) But this turn, we get some mud in the soviet center area... I may begin to admit that I have lost the initiative on this game (in June 1942 ! )

I had some fun trying to break this wall of soviets, I knew that it would probably not work and cost me a lot but I had to do it !
Now, all the operations are canceled, I let my opponent take the initiative. First, I will try to make him think that I plan another operation during this summer. Second, I need to build defensive position in the back of my front. I will hold the saliants the more that I can and before winter I will shorten my lines.
Of course I will always counter attack when possible
Turn 59. Nothing happend during a month. My panzers are concentrated in some places to threaten the soviets...
Here is thr order of battle

Turn 60
My recon revealed a lot of guards or cav corps in some spots. I moved some panzers where I think that the soviets could strike and did put them in reserve mode. The soviets did launch a few attacks in the north (where I have my weakest armys ) and I have lost some positions. Here is a screenshot of a good defence with the 23rd panzer which reacted very well to the attack.

Turn 62
My opponent is clever. he attacked 5 or 6 positions. Most of the time my infantry had to withdraw but instead of staying out of his wall of fortified 3 or 4 hexes, he moves back his units so that I cannot get a chance to attack them in open field ! Too bad, I had moved some panzer corps in forest areas, not far from what I was thinking to be his next targets...I am sure that Traemyn understand that I have decided to play in defence.
Here is another cool result ! Thanks to the 12th panzer and his 85 afv.

First opportunity to counter attack. I don't have the power to attack four hexes ! I decide to conentrate on those in the red circle...they are easily pushed back.

Turn 65
Thinks are turning hugly in the center...I am slowly moving panzer army 2 and 3 to this area. The brianks saliant has to be evacuated. Smolensk will be the next turn. Anyway, in this area, I think to withdraw during the snow turns to the Dnepr but I will concentrate most of my panzers here (two thirds) to counter attack in this open field.
I am following the other AARs...seems that if my front does not collapse before turn 90, I will be abble to be a little satisfied !
