Status: offline 		I agree with you on the Fighting Sioux, Shanilec. The 'mascot' is elegant, refined and noble. As was the "Redskins'" male indian warrior in profile that used to be on their helmets, but was removed in the interests of PC revisionism.

How NCAA can mandate redaction of that mascot, while permitting other equally offensive stereotypes (think educated men from Nebraska like the Corn Huskers' mascot-some goofy looking oversized farm boy chewing on wheat straw?; how about the "Aggies" (many iterations of these)? If Chief Wahoo from MLB's Cleveland Indians isn't offensive in his visage enough to change, then there's hypocrisy writ large out there.

Threadsters-you decide for yourselves: which is more likely to be offensive to native Americans / indigenous peoples:

Status: offline 		Spirit Lake (formerly Fort Totten) Tribe voted 67% to 27% to keep the Sioux. Standinig Rocks 4 of 7 leaders refuses to let the tribe vote. Now an injunction is being filed by Spirit Lake. Spirit Lake is equally teed at the NCAA. They do not speak for them. The fight continues.

Real = Royal (Spanish pronunciation: reˈal)...

In any case we lost 0:1 (it cold have been 0:5 but we also might have pulled 1:1)...
