Another newb question. Are there any good guides on how to package and upload mods?
Many Thanks

It really depends on how extensive the mod is.

For example, if you simply want to make a mod that gives a list of ship names, then simply zip up the text file with a readme (recommended) in a standard zip format. In this case, the end user simply needs to unzip the file to the proper location.

IF you have a full theme with race modifications and graphics (which are yours and not someone else's, or if you have the creators permission to redistribute) then you can zip up the whole theme for download. And it remains simple for the end user.

If you are using another modder's graphics and do not have permission to redistribute, then you will need to point to the download location in the announcement thread, and be sure to give instructions on how to get those graphics into the mod folder.

In reply to Data: We of the mighty Jophur forgive your wolfling ignorance. Our stack of rings argue to adopt you and your client species. But the master ring says you would better be used for mulch.

Data, You wouldn't package the Tymbrimi because:

1. She was cover art on a book and that could have nasty copyright issues

2. She wasn't a typical "head and shoulders" portrait

3. She isn't your type

Or is it something else??
