Guys, we're going to restart our AAR (hopefully this coming week) and are considering using the beta. Question: If we do that, when the beta becomes official, will we have to agonize over having to start over or missing some cool aspect that won't carry over to an ongoing game?

Also, if we start the beta, as new builds come out, are there new things that will not carry over to ongoing games in them?

Not possible to know in advance, Major Mike. If it's only a code patch, then it'll not require a restart. I'd kick off your game, if I were you.

Thanks, T. Should I land the job on Tuesday, I'll get Windows 7 Tuesday night and start turn 1 on Tuesday night.

It took bloody ages to actually install on my system, considerably longer than Vista in fact. Once it was up and running it seems to have been much faster in daily use, so I'll take that trade-off.

I'll just let it install overnight.

Very nice ships as always, Dixie. Who's the one in the upper right?

Evening tithe... Big day tomorrow with the big race at Bathurst on the Telly all day, and my Son home on leave to watch it with me.

Edit; Also a few cold stubbies of beer in the fridge... heaven!

And what a race it turned out to be!!!

After 6:29.52 hours the winning margin was 0:00.2917 secs. Craig Lowndes NEVER gives up with out a fight and with six seconds to make up with only 10 laps to go it was on for young and old!!! Garth Tander did a fantastic job holding him off!!

Bathurst has to be greatest race in the world!!!

Personal link: Last year we paid for a ride in V8 Supercar at the Calder raceway for my son. The driver was.... Nick Percat (as of today a Bathurst champion) and he held nothing back!!! It was probably the most exciting ride my son will ever have!!!

By the way you Top Gear freaks, these cars are made by Holden, not Vauxall or GM (despite what the overseas marketing dept says...)

http://www.v8supercars.com.au

I stumbled onto live coverage of this race on TV here and watched the last 2 hours! What a fantastic course, and it was an amazing finish!

It's actually very easy. The wife unit is in NJ visiting the mother-in-law unit all week and I have nothing to do until drill Friday morning. That gives me all of Wednesday and Thursday to work on the turn.

Not nearly as dangerous as the other drivers.

True. The Safety Course is just a starting point. One thing I learned is joining a Motorcycle Club is just like joining a Yacht Club. You join to learn your machine better so your enjoyment of the sport is enhanced by your fellow members. My new club has courses and seminars for humans and dogs so they can ride together safely. It's just like I was a newby sailor, joined a YC, and get lots of benefit of experienced sailors. Motorcycle Clubs are exactly the same. If one is a responsible rider, one takes every opportunity to learn and always rides within their limits. Signed me and Beaudy up for the "Beast Rider" course. He will get his own special "colors". He's gonna seriously love it when I say "ok, roadtrip".
