Hi,

I'm thinking that the "mega-patch" for CC Cross of Iron made things worse instead of better. I am back to playing the orginal CC3, which begs the question, why did I purchase this.

Just a short background to let you know that I have been playing wargames since the 1970's and pc wargames since they came on the scene with things like the amiga pc. Anyway, for a game that has been out so very long, which so many folks improving it, it seems questionable that there are so many problems. I play mainly with friends online, and for example, we play a campaign and then for no reason it will crash and save after a crash, so nullify the campaign. AI is still ridulous with units, especially AT guns in critical positions that continuously turn in place (even while adjacent to leader), etc, etc. The problems are especially evident on the "new maps", maps that were not in the original game -- they are really bad with both the campaign crashes and ai issues, like the pirouetting units.

I am very computer literate and run my small company's lan of 8 pcs. So I have no issues with software, installation, or anything like that. In fact my main pc has a new hard drive, new Win7, and new CoI install. I don't really get it, in the sense of -- don't you guys get complaints on this, or are we such a small, eclectic group that no one really plays it to the extent we do. Dunno, but I would rather get credit to buy another game than keep wasting time with this, unless some other patch is being released. Please advise.

Thanks,
Peter

There are no plans at this stage to release another patch.

Could you please  list in point form your concerns and any detailed information eg location on map that AT guns spin etc.

thank you

As has been mentioned elsewhere, there are in fact plans to release another update and one is currently in the works. Please do tell us what issues you're seeing so that we may try to replicate them on our end. Any issues we can replicate will get fixed so the more detail you provide the better.

Hi.

Please look at the artillery explosion bug...it's still there.
Link for original post---http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2505474&mpage=1&key=

Oh and on the subject of that same map Moscow2 (The first fortifacation Ring)
45mm AT Gun no longer goes in the TOP or Bottom pillboxs.
Before the mega patch they did ....not sure if other maps are the same.

Found the same bug reported on ccs as well ,so here's the link for that as well.

Hello Oddball, can you tell us whether an update is also in the works for TLD and/or (especially) LSA? Thanks.

Can someone PLEASE tell me where I can find the files that represent the VICTORY LOCATION
ICONS in COI, or the name of the files. I would like to change the graphics on these flags
if I am able for new MODS. Any help would be most welcome.
Thanx, _RAUBKATER

In the Graphics directory is a file named "Terrain" which contains (among other images) the sprites for the VL flags. To edit this file you'll need a community-created utility program. The one I recall was called "Sprite Tool". You can find it by searching the web for "close combat terrain sprite tool".

I wonder if this happens to everyone? I see it all the time. Explosion graphic freeze and blocks view of that area for the duration of the match? Not a big deal like the AT gun Bug but still...

Late reply :( missed the post.

I see the arty bug often enough...but yeah the AT bug is a bigger deal.
Hopefully news of a fix for both isn't far off.

Graphics don't work in windows 7 64.

When playing a game with complicated scenario, e.g. snow scence or rattenkrieg, and clicking on a unit to obtain the controls box, then box becomes corrupted, i.e. only some random options appear, for example just the fire options with no movement or vice versa.

Have tried changing screen resolutions, nothing works. All other parts of the game work OK, just the unit control boxes corrupted.

Computer works fine, everything else works on it. So looks like a bug in software. Any ideas???
