(P.S.  Note that our resident Rajun' Cajun doesn't comment about his favorite team's current situation - i.e, it's kickin' butt across the college football landscape.  When you can brag but don't it shows good breeding!)

I opened that can of worms?

No way I'm commenting on this matter as it will devolve into nothing worthwhile.

I have seen much moaning, groaning, and gnashing of teeth about the game last Sat. PM. Personally, I loved it.. I played defense most of the time, OT only when needed.

Anyone going to a Marine Corps ball? I went to the one here last year but won't be making it this time around. It's said to be the best ball in Korea of the services. Happy 236th.

And a happy Veterans Day to all the forumites who have been or are in the line of fire.

Cheers,
CC

The Corps is good at taking young men and women who are not going anywhere in their life and helping them find direction.

During the Vietnam era we didn't get much thanks from the public for service, in fact none. I can count on one hand how many times I voluntarily wore my uniform in public in the USA (from 69-81). Sad times. I'm glad for those in now that they don't have to experience what was then a very poor time to be in the service. Hal

The Corps is also very good at changing peoples minds when you work with them a while. On the contractor side, I learned the key thing they valued was honesty--if you say you'll do something, you do it. They were my favourite customer.

Yep, same experience here ('69-'73). It's heartening to see that things have changed.

Unfortunately, I can relate. I was in the Navy. It was not a good time. I can remember many times I was ordered not to wear the unifrom. To wear the uniform would have been too dangerous. I, too, am happy things are so much better now. j
