Elmer is pushing hard west of Moscow, and the recent reinforcements are just shells not ready for combat yet so I have railed them into
position to dig forts behind the front lines. I expect to maybe get pushed back that far. I need to pull back from time to time to avoid
getting pocketed. But I've got lots of space to trade for saved Soviet lives.

Here's the Soviet moves in T14: I tried a lot of bombing of Axis ground units, some air base strikes, etc. Maybe I'm making headway.

The computer still seems confuzled when it comes to capturing or holding Riga.  It should have attacked it multiple turns ago.

I got tired of the high aerial losses and I thought I'd play with the fighter escort figures, bump 'em up so that there's more fighters in the
air at a time. Maybe bomber losses will come down somewhat. Hopefully.

There were a lot of interceptions happening while the Axis was moving. But a look at the battles report doesn't show very much in the
way of results. Some rare instances will give a good hit and most of the time it's a clean miss.

Here's the T16 Soviet moves: I did a bunch of bombing of Axis ground units. Didn't get very many hits though.

I find i have more than enough fighter sqdrns so I swap the 153BS? to IL2s...

What is your opinion of the AXIS AI?

I gave it an extra 10 points advantage and found that the was a german Inf div on the Luga by T5!!!!

How can you tell that you have more than enough? Axis losses astronomical? I try to swap out the I-153's for Lagg-3's, Yak-1's or
Mig-3's in that order. And as soon as I have enough AP's I try to upgrade the U-2 transports to something more modern like the LI-2.
I seem to be loosing a lot of IL-2's to ground interdiction. Even though there's fighter support. Might be a sign that AAA guns are
active in that hex. I need to pay more attention to the attack results screens.

Normal setting is too easy. And judging from the quote below I'm guessing I too need to bump up the % advantage.

I was the Soviet player when Far captured Leningrad in T3 one time. Yeah, I'm that bad.

when i played axis ai i hold Riga and Tallin long time to. holding up an whole army with 2 rifle divisions is nice and even so destroy the supply to AGN.
i think devolpers need to help axis ai more to combat and take riga tallin.

Hi all,

Thanks for interesting and well documented AAR!

BTW, what do you think about whole AI (German in this case) experience in the WitE thus far as relative new player?

One of my tank brigades got passed behind in a pocket and wasn't dealt with in time before he crept into Warsaw and destroyed all the
Axis industry there. And I've been holding Riga since the start of the game. Now Odessa is in siege and I'm still holding onto it. And
there weren't a whole lot of pockets created by the AI in the early turns, allowing me to form a proper front line and delay the Axis
advance even more.

So on the whole I'm thinking that the AI is no substitute for the real human player and if you're playing the AI for the practice you might
be better served in a human vs human game. But the AI can give you an entertaining game if you're not in a hurry. Bumping the
advantage up to 110% is a must for a good game against the AI.

Some of the new reinforcements are just shells and aren't ready for combat so I've been parking quite a few of them in and around
Moscow to form a reserve Army. I'm all out of unemployed HQ's and need some more. I'm going to get a few more HQ's in future
turns but until then I guess I'll just have to leave the divisions with STAVKA because all the HQ's are full up in CP's.

I gave a BM Howitzer and a Hvy Mortar to the Fort at Riga just to stiffen up the defenses there somewhat. I have no idea how long the
AI is going to let me hang on to Riga. Maybe the rest of the game. Warsaw has been repairing. The manpower there is only 79 now
instead of 100.

I gave a Hvy Mortar to the Fort at Odessa for the same reason Riga got one. Maybe I can hold onto Odessa through the blizzard too.

There were no Axis attacks in T18, the frontline isn't changing all that much, and this AAR would get boring if I continued it.  I'll post some more of this game if
anybody is really interested or if something really cool happens and the map changes or something.  Other than that I guess I'm done here.

Most probably this is about the MAX with 100% Axis AI...

In my internal recent test AI vs. AI on 100% for both sides this was (more or less) the line before winter...

Time for 110%?
