Hi guys, I am here to share either bug or some kinda really strong ship that i have encountered in the game.
I am currently in a war with Mortalean Empire and they have attacked one of my space ports. I was able quite easily destroy all of their sheeps ( my empire much more advanced technologicaly) except for one. My strongest fleet was chasing him through the system for about 2 and half minutes with his shields at 0. However he did not get any damage to the hull or components.
I am not sure what is it, but something tells me it is a bug. Even if it is an allien ship that they found and he could be very strong, I still ahve a fleet with very advanced weapons ( heavy railguns and standard weapons as well) and a very strong allien capital ship. Plus some 20+ fighters. And for about 2 minutes he did not get a single hit on hull or components. Is there a way to jsut remove him, maybe with some cheat? As it really ruins my game plans on conquering the universe :(
THank you for your time.

You can remove it using the editor (it's the "planets and pen" button, left of the characters button).

Yesterday i`ve invaded a single-colony AI race hoping for an easy kill. Got frustrated when they brought a 450+ sized capital into combat that managed to crush the majority of my invasion fleet single-handedly. The most annoying thing was that it managed to slip away every time i reduced its shields to 10-20%. Only after getting long-range scanners and hyperdenies i managed to hunt that beast down (got a fleet of 23 350+ sized cruisers with ions, missiles and phasors to kill it loosing more than a half of ships!). I believe that capital ship had advanced ECM, damage control and tons of armor as i showered its hull with lots of hits for really little effect.

Well, I guess it means it is not only me. However it means it si not a bug, but more like a very big advantage for one who finds this ship over everyone else. I used map editor to creat this ship I have fought and put it next to my home base with two very strong defence bases. He almost took one before he retreated. Without any damage, except for shields.

It is possible to discover very advanced ships and in some cases those may be very difficult to destroy, due to a combination of advanced shields, countermeasures, advanced armor and self-repair. We've made an adjustment in the next update to make these ships a bit less invulnerable, but they will still be very hard to destroy until you are close the same tech level.

Regards,

- Erik

Sperlhawk,

It would be useful to watch that battle if you have a save from right before or during the battle that you could upload.

Sadly I do nto ahve it :( However I understand that this ship might be the one with all the latest tehcnology possible. In that case I suppose no fleet of middle level techonoly would eb able to kill him.

It looks like a repaired graveyard ship or something like that.

There is a high chance, that it has very advanced armor, with high reactive rating.
If you use weapons that have low damage (but high rate of fire and low size for example), not much gets through the armor.
And 1 repair component can easily keep the ship fully operational then.

By the way, what exactly does it mean, that the phasers work better against reactive ratings?

In actual numbers...
