ORIGINAL: AW1Steve Thanks for the advice everyone! And in appreciation , here is a tip. When you have a CV going into a Loooonnnngggg yard period, (like to fix that annoying double torpedo hit) pull off the airgroup, then stuff it full over rookie USMC and RAF Swordfish CV Capable aircraft, set to 100% trained and 0 range). When the CV comes out , the airgroup will be much better trained and CV trained, vice CV capable , with much reduced OPS losses. Not sure about this, Steve-o. CVs in port / disbanded have their air operations truncated significantly. I'd think this would be easier to accomplish with CVEs that do not experience the coastal hex flight ops limitations. Of course, anything >50 combined damage will also limit air ops in general, so it may be some time before this will 'take'. Have you done this before from experience or are you suggesting what sounds like it may be a good use of airwing 'down'time? Done it, been there, got the t-shirt. Seriously , since you handed me that last beating I've gone back to school and been experimenting against the AI with great abandon. This DOES work, but the timing had me puzzeled. Sometimes 90 days , sometimes earlier sometimes later. A couple of times it's been MUCH earlier. Next I plan on investigating if the effect is cumulative. (That is, moving a squadron on then off then on again to see if this works). This would be useful as you could jump from CV to CV as a damaged one comes in and a newly repaired (or refitted) one comes out. You can do it now , if you plan the timeing accordingly , but it would be useful if you could "beach" the airgroup between CV. I'll report what I find , if useful. I would give stategic or tactical information (Sorry CB!) but I'll happily pass on what I consider "game information" as all should share. JFB's should find this data useful as you have MANY IJNAF CV capable air craft, which in scenarios like Coral Sea can be Very useful to augment limited CV trained air craft (Obviously Coral Sea is too short a scenario to be useful).
