Hi guys, I'm starting to get fustered in a PBEM game, and I'd like some help.

Situation (mid march 1942):

I've taken 95% of the P.I including manilla (only the 3-hex Island North of Cebu remais in allied hands), and Singapore (peninsula also) and have landed lots of troops in/on Java , taking Soerbaja (moving inland to capture more). Borneo and Palembang are mine also, and I have troops in Moulmein close to Rangoon.

I seem to be doing good in China and have massed lots of troops to take his bigger cities...

On the sea, I've probably KOd 3-4 of his US CVs (unless he's hidden them and placed his aircraft on land). I've lost 2 smaller CVE/CVL...but I've lost many transports (xAKs, AKs ad AP) thanks to too little escorts against his surface raiders...

My CV groups (one smaller and a bigger 'KB') and just tooling around looking to sink so stuff.

Now I see that he's reinforced Port Moresby and Tulagi (both have been reconed at different times with as many as 120 planes parked there), and hes also reinforced Rangoon. In Port Moresby/Tulagi there are many carrier planes (at least enough from 2 sunk/damaged CV) that must have escaped their CVs and landed on land.

I'm not sure if in the short term I should try an amphib assault on Port Moresby and / or Tulagi and risk getting transports sunk and troops killed on the beaches... or just reinforce rabaul and stalemate him in that area to concentrate on other fronts...

i'm trying to figure out a strategy where I can continue using my ground troops with fewer transport ships than I would like. Maybe send troosp to China? since i can land lots of troops there (that just cleared manilla/Bataan/Clarck Field) quickly and with little risk to the transports.

Should I start going on the defensive now, sending 'more' troops to Pacific Islands Wake/Guam.

I've moved many Zeroes and Oscars 'forward' to priotect against his 4E that are hitting me more and harder as we progress into 1942...

Also, where do i want to send all resources? al to the Japanese home Islands, or can I send resources to Manilla and/or Singapore to be used there...

Sorry about the long post...

keep in mind those CV's may come back. FOW means your reports may be unrealistic.

if he has enough supply and aviation support there, those dive bombers at port morseby/tuligai can hurt you just as badly as if on a ship.

Send your excess resources, fuel and oil to Japan. Any of the southern or western islands will do. It'll get shipped to where you need it. You need 3 million resources at Honshu a month. That's over 100k a day.

From Port Moresby and Tulagi the Allies can fight, attrit you and advance without the CVs they just lost later in 1942 when they start getting good numbers of stuff, especialy planes. Take the Solomons and the rest of the NG, Port Moresby can become very nasty if its built up and 4Es get moved in...

Fully agree.
Till mid 42 the allies cannot stand any japanese invasion. Believe me.
Simply mass a good Armada (forget the PI...you've already got what you need there!) (say 4 divisions at least) and get to PM with the whole combined fleet. Smash the base with your BBs and don'0t fear allied LBA in mid 42...99% of times they won't launch against KB and your zeros can easily deal with those buggers.
Same for Tulagi: crush him till you can. If you let him reinforce and place therw CD guns and marine divisions you are toasted.

If you're short on troops, i repeat, extract them from the PI...the allies aren't going nowhere there
