Has any one else asked the question of how all the guns get over the trails that, from what I have read were almost impassible just to march across with full back pack and weapon? I have seen photos of the trail from Buna to Port Moresby and I think I read that geting heavy support weapons across either direction was almost impossible. Yes, I read where our Austrailian allies figured out how to break down their weapons towards the end of the campaign. But I think until guns could be moved by sea that the land campaign was sweat and bullet fed.

Perhaps it is not a big deal, but not a true historical representation, to have both sides hauling their big guns with them back and forth all over the New Guinea landscape. Both sides get to do it so it probably evens out. However, one could argue that the defender defending in a port should be able to use guns while the opposing forced who humped it over the mountains should not. I am in a very tense scenario 19 PBEM game where my opponent has brought everything except the kithcen sink with him overland from Buna. He is bombarding me with 100's of guns. He was even able to bring along several AA units with what appears to be full functioning falk effects.

Am I missing something or does the Kadota Trail get paved in UV?

As far as I can tell, he has not been able to march any of his ships over YET.
