ORIGINAL: Three4Flinching From what you are saying I will probably have a hard time in the Low countries scenario. Lost a couple of good units when I took Norway. Then again it does not matter. Im mostly playing this campain to learn the game and figure out what works best and where. I still have a hard time knowing what to buy thou. I mostly go for artillery and infantry, as said in an earlier post, but other then that it feels like you need to know how the scenario plays in order to know what you need. When I pick my units i look for a balance between stats and cost. Is that a good strategy? You'll need a mix and for some types it may not be obvious why you need them, like strat bombers. When you do Sea Lion or Overlord or get to the USA you may wish you had a few with experiance Obviously the exct make up depends on your style and personal preferance. For me I try to have a tank for each infantry, a few artillery (either style at the beginning but eventually a mix of towed and SP), more fighters than bombers and maybe an AT unit or two. I rarely buy flak as I trust my fighters to control the air but an 88 or two never hurt. Remember there are basically two 'families'oftanks early on the PZIII and Iv. Upgrading within the family is much cheaper. Eventually you will want Tigers and Panthers so you will have to pay more to buy thme outright but the PZIVH will last a good long time. I generally convert my PZIII's to Panthers and my PZIV's to Tigers or King Tigers depending on my prestiege. When I buy new tns I keep that in mind as it lets me know what my armour wil look like in 44-45. Also remember that if you find yourself with extra prestige you can buy more units than you can actually deploy in a scenario as long as you do it before you deploy the maximum number. So you can buy special units just for a particular scenario and then either keep them around just in case or disband them in the next scenario deployment phase and get your prestiege back. I do that for paratroopers, as I don't use them as much as others, but you could do it to get a few extra artillery pieces, if you think you'll need them,, or buy an extra plane or two.
