I've studied the air losses and I've decided that my planes are getting ambushed when they do ground support so I'm changing the
Air Doctrine settings to these:

I had forgotten all about setting STAVKA to a support level of 9 so it would hold all the SU's that were supposed to float up to
STAVKA on turn two. Here it's turn 28 already and I've just now discovered what I've done. So I've turned the dial back down to 3
so the SU's will flow out to the HQ's next turn. Where they need to be. About 25 turns ago.

Hi all,

Thanks again Larry!

BTW, how fast do you play (i.e. turns per day and hours per turn)?

Umm.......I'm retired so WITE is all I do all day long. I rest when I'm tired, eat when I'm hungry, and I do probably about 10 or 11 hours
and I can get through about 5 turns or so in 10 hours. So I'd guess about 2 hours per turn. I'm looking for that last STAVKA inf div to
assign to some HQ somewhere and that takes time. The CR report is invaluable when you're looking for a specific unit or a specific
condition of that unit. It's taking longer per turn because I bomb the front line, do an air base strike or two, then I attack in all those
places where I can get at least a 1:2 odds situation. Most of the results are 'held' and don't go anywhere and I usually loose
thousands while he looses at least two magnitudes of order less. But there are some Axis losses. Alll the SU's were bottled up in
STAVKA and next turn they should have trickled down to the Armies and maaaaaaybe the results will be better on the attacks.

It's January 29, 1942 and I'm starting to dig some secondary fortifications behind the front lines just in case the AI tries something very
strange indeed.

EDIT: This is getting boring just posting the counts all the time......how about I don't post anything unless something important happens.

Yeah, I just got through looking up the soviet creation unit list that was posted some time back. Rifle Corps don't appear until June '42 and I'm not sure I can last that long without them. I've got the divisions on the front lines and the rifle brigades are digging forts in the
secondary defensive lines, and the reinforcements aren't plumping up fast enough. The CV's are still too low to be going anywhere on
the front line. I'm stymied by the higher Axis CV's. I can keep attacking at low low odds and keep getting a bloody nose and we're both losing people pretty fast. I'm surprised by how deadly the Axis is still now in January, during the Blizzard and all that. Wasn't there
supposed to be some kiind of winterizing effect on the Axis? D'oh.

The patches have dropped their blizzard losses if the units have a decent fort level.

OK... so let's see what Axis AI can do in 1942...

This is the T38 Axis moves:

EDIT : What we have here is T28's front lines in one frame and T34's front lines in another frame and the Soviets have pushed the
Axis west a tiny bit in some places. And mostly the Axis is attacking those hexes that are adjacent to three hexes they can attack from.
So they are doing a 3-stack attack mostly.

My air bases are framed by a red border in the picture below. It appears that I have a potential gap in my air coverage just SE of
Leningrad. I'm going to have to move some air bases to remedy that. Don't need any ground support gaps.

Wouldn't that be really cool to have range circles for the selected airport. Colored range circles, red, say, for fighters and fighter
bombers, blue for bombers, and maybe yellow for the tactical bombers. With different colors yet for the recon and transports. TOAW
has a toggled button that turns range circles on and off for all the air bases and there's a different color for the selected air base.
AND TOAW has range circles for the arty tubes too. That's kinda handy.

This shows the units in refit status ( blue ) and those in reserve or ready ( purple ). And about 1/2 of the force is on refit right now.
