I'm using the most recent Beta and just noticed that i'm having serious issues with troop capacity, and in fact unit sizes in general. For example, i captured Marcus island, have 3 units stationed there (a USN base force, a marine defence battalion, and a seabee battalion), and the troops stationed is listed as over 52,000! Apparently the Base Force has 22,688 'other troops', the defence battalion has close to 16,000 personnel, and the seabees over 7000. I would like to take a screenshot, but have no idea how to!

This is consistent across the map (ie. not just at Marcus).

I checked, and i did have the same issue with the previous Beta patch, but not sure before that. Is it just me? Or are others seeing the same issue?

Thanks!

Probably a save would be better though.

Sorry forgot an important step ...

Must zip the file before you upload for a save file. For a picture there is no need...(but you've mastered that already!)

i will try to get a screenshot of an 'overloaded' base though. i'll paste it in later.

Thanks again

also, i checked using the last official patch, and the issue is not there, so something has changed (at least in my system) since then.

For some reason your support squads have a load cost of 266; is this a Scen 1 game with no database upgrades?

You can check this by going into the aircraft, troop and vehicle database (shortcut 'D') and having a look at the infrantry load costs.

it is a 'quiet China' game. no database changes.

Which scenario is this? I may have a solution but I would need to know so I can test it before promising anything.

EDIT: Nevermind, figured out which one it is (Scen 7), but I can't get it to work. I tried to force an update to the database, but the support squads seem alright in the files, but even after updating still have load costs of 200+. No idea what else I could do at then moment, might have to wait until michael can have a look at this.

here is an example of the supersized base forces. this one from midway with close to 28000 personnel.

The same unit in my non-Beta patched game has just over 2000 personnel.

Is this happening to others? And does anyone have a solution?

note to michael...

when your laptop recovers from its personal heatwave could you please check the save here and tell me if it is salvageable?

thanks!

I've never even heard of this problem aside from your example.

so is the game a lost cause? do i need to just start over from scratch?? There are a LOT of hours invested in this already, so i'm not thrilled with the idea of abandoning it, but i obviously cant continue as is! I would need almost the entire Allied merchant fleet just to ship a single division!!

Check out the load cost on this unit...

One thing is that Michael's PC died and he is not doing what he has been doing until he get's that fixed (Michael is the programmer currently working on patches). I do not know if he will look at your save game, but I do know he has looked at many others. He has also answered questions for people without looking at save games. You might try just letting that save game sit until he is back up to speed, maybe just try another one in the meantime for fun. Sorry I don't have a better suggestion.
