I must have been mistaken then since it was in this one too. Must have been a sherman I think mixed 'em up in memory. Sorry for the hassle.

Lost another sherman to misplaced smoke round moving without checking the IVH was covered.

Lost a sniper assaulting your tiger, hope the supression made it worth it. Center hill seems to become more or less the focal point of the battle, as britisch tanks push out an SS platoon guarding the VH's. The weather is still messing up my battle plan as infantry cannot march fast enough due to the sandstorm. Most tanks have been knocked out, and it appears most german tanks are located. Hope the reserve will be easier dealth with. I wish I had joined the home guard instead.

No much changes this turn either. Assault some infantry with tanks, take most northern VH's. I always thought reinforcements where of no issue as in not prohibited in most games? I use 'em always when I need 'm anyway.

Initially, this turn looked like it would be a repeat of the former, until a sherman machinegunning hapless german engeneers was hit by a devious satchel charge. Things looked better as a 6-pounder noticed the fearfull shape of a Tiger trough thinning smoke, and ferverlently started fireing. A lucky shell penetrated the front hull, eleminating the treat. This opened up the road to occupying the middle VH's. Northern hexes are firmly in control.

Better be carefull with your remaining 3 IVH's, I doubd you can get much heavier reinforcements.

Reports come in of yet another IVH shaken apart by 17pounder fire. Infantry crumbles under armoured fire. 17 pounders are being reloaded with more APCR ammo (penetration of 10" at short range, whoo!!)

Northern hexes are firmly secured now now a smoke screen enables digging in before the MG's can aquire targets again. Middle hexes are being overrun by brittisch troops, and the southern VH's expect a downpour of 8" shells.

Finally taking the middle VH's, but you have held 'em far too long so I guess it'll be a draw. Only 3 turns to go left, just in time since in 3 days I'll be unable to play more than 1ce a week.

Noticed your reinforcements have arived. (SP mortars? hm.... not exacly what I'd want. If I were you I'd have taken 15 cm SIg auf Pz I/II, better at killing off infantry.)

Teaches me to be too timid as well as not using transportation for my PBI's.

I know most middle VH's are still jerry, however slowly taking 'em. MMG34's give some troubles. Armour seems quite depleted on both sides, as an infantry squad hits some crewmen cooling down after a hot day in a tin can. Guess they won't be climbing back in untill the end of the battle. Your reinforcements seem the only ones that will be able to cause trouble due to retaining speed in these bad conditions. Guess you didn't use much of your Sp251/2's since I hadn't noticed 'em.

Bloody jerry had a line of sight to my ammo carriers.

Thought those were safe, and those are not cheap units so lotta points for you. Same for 17pdr

hmm, took another VH, and this being last or second to last turn, you won't get it back. (I think it would cost you more then you'd make occupying it)
Little happening further...

Yeah expected something like that you occupied 10? VH's 5 turns longer then me so that would make about 1000 difference, and you scored some quick final points on the shermans and ammo truck. btw, I didn't notice your HQ before you started tossing smoke with it. With the 17pdr's being the only ones fairly capable to take out your tanks I think it went remarkably well, as they nullified any direct treat to the northern part.

You made me realise the devastation a squad or 2 of MG's can inflict upon infantry without any cover, and without that lucky 6pdr hit on your last tiger I'd never have taken any of the middle VH's.

damnit I still don't have most points.... :(
