Hello guys ,
I am a big fan of this amazing strategy games and I am working on a new mode of
WitP AE.
This is a mod covering the western front in 1940, including northern campaign.
Mod and its development is and will be presented on these pages:
http://tanciky.cz/uv/witw_english/index.php

I would like to thank my friend Matto, who was supporting me and was participating to this
significantly.
At this time download is not available yet, but will be prepared in short time.
At the forum with this topic I will inform you about the news about the development of this mode.
Discussion and positive criticism is also welcome.
Dali

very interesting indeed by looking at the screen shots...will be very intriguing to see if the WITP-AE game engine will run properly for this type of warfare.

AD rjl518

I think the engine is not a problem. Landing at Oslo, for example, is the same as in the Philippines. (only for the axis is more difficult)

Thanks Alex. D.

I think rjl518 means tank land warfare.

Hello Dali,

It´s good to hear you're still modding the game! In my case I had to abandon almost all hope to re-create the AE:War in The East Mod we made together for WitP.
Congratulations on your effort, I´m looking forward to see it finished and sincerely hope that David Bradley's Pwhexe editor was useful to you.

Merry Christmas!

Way cool, Dali.

For me, scenarios make WIT*:AE playable. (I don't want to devote my entire gaming life to playing only WITP:AE full-war, grand campaigns.)

So far you have a Norway 1940 scenario in the works. What other scenarios do you foresee near term? long term?

Hi Dali,
this looks pretty, really pretty cool; can't wait to get my hands on it
especially the map...I currently use a NASA Map for my own "War-In-The-Atlantic-Mod"...,
so I'm glad to see your handmade map. I love it !!
Regards,
Creeper

Well yes, 2 years ago () I worked on converting all the East Front data I had for WitP into the new Admiral´s edition format.
That is almost done, obviously with many new data missing like ship tonnage, new in-war TOE updates for land units, testing the new MVR data for aircraft, redesigning the Industry,....

The biggest issue for me is the MAP - I don´t have one and I absolutely suck at graphics!

CobraAus () made the one for WitP, but I need one for AE with the new scale, hexsides (or the work with Pwhexe is an even bigger nightmare) and terrain graphics already in - so I could code it with the Editor. It should stretch for the same area as the old EF map for WitP, from 2 hexes west of Berlin to Astrakhan and from 2 hexes south of Sofia to a little north of Murmansk/Archangelsk. Anyone willing to do this???

ALL other graphics were made by DALI. Again my biggest thank you to him for his work! Many things I could use again, some will have to be shifted, some new created....

It´s a lot of work and a long term project, and at least for me, I don´t have much time to spare - but I will try to work on the map data if someone creates a good looking map.

Regarding AE ability to reflect Blitzkrieg warfare - it can´t! It is great for naval, air and invasion type warfare - so Dali´s scenarios are the best idea! WitM is obviously a good choice after Norway.
Battle of Britain was something I was thinking of too - short, lot´s of data available, small map to create... the problem is that airfield bombing is way to effective and the German would cripple the RAF in a couple of turns. And some sort of die-roll would be needed to set targets for Luftwaffe, be it Radars, Ports, Airfields, Industry, City Terror Bombing,.... If I´m not mistaken CREEPER has some work done on this?!

Happy New Year to you all!

1) reduce accuracy of devices
2) make many airfields

keep it up, WIR mod was really good, i had 2 or 3 AAR campaigns on the WITP forum

Thank you all for your positive feedback.
The above site is a few new images from the environment of the Danish Army 1940th

AD Battle of Britain.
Germans fail to break Britain's airports, ports, etc.
They are not suitable fighter. A small range of Me-109E-1 and E-3 would be prohibitive.
But it begins production of E-7, which carries an additional tank ....

All apologies for my terrible English .... Dali

Uuu, Dali still fighting.
Have you got rid of those gazzilion squad types for all sides? There was like 15 for French infantry only. If you have German OOB, I can filter it through Tessin.

IIRC there is specific bit in AltUse to set is as Airfield Attack. Maybe reducing number of actual devices will lower number of destroyed planes? I do not think bomb accuracy have much effect on this.

I don't know how far you are in your mod, Dali.
But I started a mod for witp about the same scenario.

My idea was to focus on naval warfare, despite the theatre.
You can find my ideas here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1702331&mpage=1
