I confirm that, if the event logger or windows explorer tend to crash you probably have something wrong that has nothing to do with DW. First, I don't see a word about .NET framework in these posts… In case you haven't, try and install the latest .NET framework from microsoft's site. If you have it already, maybe something went wrong in its install, and it may be able to cause problems throughout the whole system, and you may want to try uninstall and reinstall it (DW problems may only be a symptom of this). Computer constructors and internet service providers also tend to install a lot of useless and problem causing software on their PCs. Maybe one of them is causing you trouble. I would uninstall anything that is not a driver or not really useful. Among useless software people install because of their outstanding marketing propaganda, antivirus software. They cause a lot more problems (like crashing the event logger or the explorer) than they solve. In fact, they rarely solve anything, but claim finding viruses all the time where there is usually none, and miss pretty much all real threats. With or without an antivirus, just avoid visiting or downloading from sites which reputation you don't know (or know is bad, of course). To check for your hard drive integrity, you can try this: 1- Hit Windows+R on your keyboard 2- in the new window, type cmd, then enter 3- in the new black window, type chkdsk /F It will then check your C: disk partition for any problem and try to fix them, and report its finds. If you have installed the game in another partition, specify it after the chkdsk command (something like chkdik D: /F).
