Sorry Guys... I am not quite dead yet, but I have been very sick.

I think that my G-mail has been hacked, and someone sent a bogus message to USS America. My Sons name is not Basil, and hope none of you have been asked for money, as that name sounds Nigerian to me.

Cheers Des.

USS America -

Very difficult news to take; I loved his humor and avatars.

Thank You for keeping us informed; he is a good man and shall not be forgotten.

I trust that God is with you, DivePac.

Mac

EDIT:

DivePac88 - You Rascal!!! I did not read the rest of the thread before posting; and am so delighted (and downright grateful!) to have you and your awesome avatar back with us!!!

God is Good!

Now I've got to dig through here and remove the cloying platitudes and veneration I heaped upon him.

ETA: Good on you, mate. Hope you're feeling better...

Well, "very sick" is certainly better than the alternative!

Welcome back, and here's to a hopefully rapid recovery.

I am surprised no one has posted this one

"Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do."

Hi all,

My Brothers, with a heavy heart, I have to pass along more sad news this evening. I received an email reply from Des' son this evening that he has lost his long battle with illness.

Here is the email that his son, Basil, asked me to pass along:

Hello Mike,

I am Bruce (Des) Wallace's Son,
I am just tiding-up his affairs and correspondence.
I have the sad news that my Father passed away on the twenty eighth of November 2011, after a long Illness.
I am sorry to have to give you this news, and could you please also pass this news onto his other gaming friends
Basil Wallace.

The only words that come to mind are that I've lost a friend. It matters not that we never met in person. Des will be missed.

I just did a quick Google search and found one of your old posts:

I was a bit worried on Monday though, as my Son Daniel was in Christchurch City for a birthday party. He was in the Eastern Suburbs where the flooding and some damage was, and the flat he was in got trashed. He luckily managed to get out of the City (lots of bridges and roads closed), and back down here that night. But I was a worried camper for a while, as the cell-system went down, and I couldn't get in contact with him for some time.

We simply didn't catch that "Basil" person that wrote to Mike wasn't your son... the news he gave us was terrible and nobody noticed that...
