As we had a discussion in a recent thread i conducted a systematic test about unload bonuses:

Setup:

For the test the normal Marians scenario was used. Game used the latest BETA Patch. All modifications were done through the editior. Invasion was on Rota as there are no CDs and no Mines.

TF was an allied TF with the following ships
12 xAP
9 xAK
(and 4 BB and a few DDs) but they are not revelant.
loaded with 27 Inf Division and 3rd Marines division. Distribution on the ships was done automatically (editor).

I did two tests, first was with a additional TF in the Hex (to move the ships for each test) with 5 LCI and 7 APA.
Second test was with some more LCI (13) and 11 LST. All the ships in the support TF were empty.

I ran:

1.) Only the xAP/xAK fleet unloaded. After 1 turn there were

6412 troops
0 second line troops
0 guns
0 vehicles

2.) I shifted all LCI (first test) so 5 LCI were in the TF. After 1 turn there were

6352 troops
0 second line troops
0 guns
0 vehicles.

3.) I run a turn with all APA in the TF. After 1 turn:
7850 troops
832 second line troops
57 guns
17 vehicles

4.) Next test was with 13 LCI (to confirm and to test with more LCI)
6404 troops
0 second line troops
0 guns
0 vehicles

5.) Last test was with the LST. After 1 turn were:
6361
0 second line troops
0 guns
0 vehicles

So i would finally conclude that only APA (AKA) provide any bonus during unload phases if there are any empty ships of that type in the TF. LCI/LST do not provide any bonus. The small number fluctuations are from the losses during the landing phases. Even with 100 pre you still lose some troops.

If anyone wants the saves or the scen just ask.

Interesting, I once had a base force on a xAP that I was trying to unload at a size 0 port( I owned it ). The motorized support would not unload so I move a empty LCI there. With the LCI in the port or in its own TF, nothing changed. When I merged the LCI with the xAP the motorized support unloaded the next turn. It would seem natural from that that LCIs and LSTs should help unload xAP/xAK ships. Maybe it only helps at a friendly port, not at an enemy port.
