LSU Replaying Alabama after beating them(ALA) already. I feel LSU shouldn't have to play them again. I am no fan of LSU or Alabama but the system totally sucks. I am not for sure what the Bcs committee could have done. But this game set up is not the answer.

Now what if Alabama wins, will they claim the national championship after beating LSU when LSU as already beat them. If anything they would be EVEN. Just my football thoughts.....from a concerned college football fan

If the BCS was that good then the NFL would use biased coaches, biased sports writers and flawed computer programs to decide who plays in the Super Bowl.

Never really understood this issue. In every other sport I can think of teams play in the regular season and play in the post season and there is no issue. Is it just because college football has no playoff? A few years back the Patriots beat the Giants in the last regular season game and the Giants beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Were they just even?

The job of the BCS is to pick the best two teams; I think they did that.

Being an Alabama fan, I have fought this battle for 44+ days now. The BCS was made to pick the top 2 teams. People may not like the top 2 teams, but everyone agreed that the top 2 teams were the two that played, regardless of how they felt about it.

This was a once in a lifetime (probably) occurrence. There was absolutely nothing wrong with a rematch which happens all the time in college football and in all types of sports.

It's not that good, but it wasn't designed to be like the NFL. It's a lot harder to design a playoff system for the NCAA when you have 120 teams to choose from.

I think the two best teams in the nation played but they need to come up with some type of system, to keep teams who have beaten other teams from playing again in post season(on a top 10 tier system).  I think it was unfair to the players/coaches of LSU to play Alabama again. Just my thoughts.

That was one of the most boring football games that I've ever watched. Throw a couple more like that at the public, and USA will end up watching soccer.

I just want who plays in the championship game to be determined on the field of play not the the biased system they use now. If it is so hard to have a championship with that many schools do away with all the other championships, that would be all the other sports but big school football. The reality is the bowl games pour a HUGE amount of money into college sports. Until someone comes up with a way to have the bowl games and a championship combined it won't happen.

I think Oklahoma State has an argument but their loss came to late to recover from.

I don't think that the BCS boys ever imagined a repeat of a normal season game. What were the chances?
If the conferences were about equal  in strength to each other then the chance of a repeat of a season game would be very small.

SEC is always there in the top 20 and now they get bigger next season.

If two teams were equally matched in stats played each other, would there be a really high score?

I've been in dart leagues and I've seen teams at the same level play championship games which ended in the final league of the match.  Yes, darts and football cannot be compared, I'll agree. But my point is if two teams are evenly matched, then wouldn't a low score game or even a tie be more possible?

Also, people say that Alabama already lost and doesn't deserve another chance.  But that is in regular league season. What if Georgia had not won the SEC east and Tennessee, Florida or Kentucky took the East? Then it would have been LSU and one of them? Wouldn't an argument be possible that since LSU beat them already during normal season that they didn't deserve to play again since LSU won already against them?

Though there those who say that the game was boring since it was low scoring. Well, is football supposed to be about be spectacular plays and high scores or about winning the game? Would it be better to have the score 50 to 51 rather than 9-6?
I think that this was a game that showed how two strong teams deal with each other. They are there to win games. Not put on a show.

My two cents.

Thanks.
Just joined a few weeks ago but I have kept up with the BCS argument quite a bit.
I think that this past season has shown that even rank doesn't matter that much. How many teams lost to lower
ranked teams?

There has been a lot of talk to move to a playoff system. I can understand people's concerns but the problem is
not that simple.
How exactly would a playoff system be implemented? What about the smaller bowl games? If one team wins and goes to the next round, would they just accumulate the money earned in a bowl game? In that case I would see a team that wins to the national championship earning a lot. And that might not go down well.

Also, what about schedules?  The conference games are at the beginning of December and would a playoff system be feasible? When would it end? I don't think people will be too keen on studying on the weekend while there is a major football game going on.  What about the players as well?  Should they be allowed not to take the exams?  I don't think many students would go for that.

People call for a playoff system but the problem is that it is too easy to say,"Playoff system is better than the BSC system". How exactly can a playoff system work?  There are too many variables to consider.  But that is what the BCS boys should think about since it is their job.  From my experience running a dart league, "Show me exactly how to do it and not talk about it".

And how often do we plan something and it all goes according to plan? I think that those who are on this board know from the games that we play that no matter how often we plan, nothing ever goes to according to plan 100 percent of the time. Too many variables.   If nobody else sees the errors/mistakes then we are happy with that.
